Not that anyone really want's to know, but out of the 6 videos I finished, I trashed 3. (and two of the finished videos might have been better off trashed )

Those 3 got pretty far too, and I kept what I had. I might get back to it some day. (maybe not)

I have not really been around to see any of my video in a large live aduance though (cause I only go to AX, and that's mega hard to get into, as you all know, I bet) so I don't know if I'm being silly or not.

(it did not help me that I was using fansubs because I did not have access (or computer abilty) to get anything eles. I hope I'm better off this year. -_-)

I've trashed some projects......well basically cause I lost my idea, and some of those early projects I just didn't know how to do certain things. But thats a minority compared to the ideas I like. Those ones get done a.s.a.p, but the others go on hold....::Translation:: I'm a Lazy mofo

Re: trashing - I've trashed about four, but they deserved it. Most of the time I just didn't have as much source as I thought I did (I have a bad habit of thinking of ideas about minor characters without much screen time).

But I'm picking up one of them again just out of boredom, so who knows what could happen.

I have been working on the same project for the past 2 years. It's a rediculous thing, especially because the conept isn't that difficult, and had a freak accident foreign language conversion not destroyed all of my progress, I would be finished by now. The entire time, I've been doubting it. I still do. I really never thought it would be a good video. I don't know why I'm still working on it.
-_-
I hate that video.

I doubt my stuff all the time - it's normal and historians are encouraged to heavily criticize their own work so that they can deal with professional book reviewers getting it wrong. That said, I've only killed one project - and the one I did instead was even worse. Thank goodness for rebounds.

(NERD Studios) Arturo wrote:I'm about halfway done with my first AMV and I'm starting to have doubts. It seems like the more I work on it the less inspiring the concept in general seems. I start getting these doubts that the song isn't good enough or the footage isn't clean enough or the song isn't complex enough or fast enough and so on.

Are these doubts normal? Is it a stage experienced in the creation of every AMV? Should I ignore them and plunge on into uncertainty? Or should I drop the whole thing and look for a song/anime combination that might work better?
I would like to say that your second paragraph could be a song 8)

"Cast aside all worldly thoughts and passions and know deep down in your heart that your amv editing can defeat any enemy... *echo any enemy... any enemy..."

Oh wait, that's a modified quote from the anime, "Crimson Wolf".

DOH DOH!

I chucked a Pokemon comedy video that I really wish I hadn't about a year ago or so. Believe me, you'll regret tossing projects most of the time. :|

I've doubted every one of my projects constantly... the only ones I no longer doubt are the original M:I and Not Another One, the first because of all the wonderful people who applauded it at ushicon and the second because I spent so much time on it, crafting it until _I_ was pleased with it.
