ADV announces Evangelion "director's cut" (I HATE

At AnimeBoston, ADV announced that they will be releasing the director's cut of that last two DVDs (six episodes) of Neon Genesis Evangelion. Episodes 25/26 will be the same, but the other four (21 - 24) will have changes. My guess would be the deleted scenes and stuff.

They couldn't comment on if they had "Revival," but I think this sucks and is just screwing us fans who bought the boxset or discs 7 and 8. To make matters worse, some of us will just have to buy these director's cut and then get screwed again when they get the rights to the Revival boxset.

I HATE YOU ADV!!! There goes another 40 bucks down the drain..anyone want a used Disc 7 and 8?!? O_o

Uhm...I don't know...it really depends on what happens with these I guess...like release dates, etc. I guess I'll get back to you. I wouldn't have you pay anywhere near what I paid since they're used and I'd also probably knock a little off since there's the super-duper editions....we'll talk when this becomes more finalized. For all I know ADV is gonna release it and then announce they have Revival.

well, its now oficial, ADV is jacking everyone they can, but ill not be jacked. It is here that i shall make my stand..Just like any brit, i ll bide my time until its just right, then ill buythe final release of eva (ill force whoever's in charge of gainax to sign a pack tht there will be no more eva releases) bwahahahaha

What about those of us who bought the series a DVD by DVD a year before the boxset,and got screwed some $100 or whatever?

Can we just forget about EVA and get on with our lives?!

Yeah that was me too. I bought them one by one and then the boxset came out. I had to buy the box seperate from RightStuf. Now I have to replace two discs and then if the Revival...ARGH!

In closing...no I can't forget about it since it's a ton of money and they're just pricks for doing this. They should AT THE LEAST give us credit for our discs or something. As consumers we are entitled to voice or opinion (distaste) like this.

You make it seem like they care about us. They are a business and are entitled to well...make money. I just find it very mean of them screwing over their loyal fans (esp. with something as niche' as anime). Don't most niche' groups have loyalty with the companies and the companies don't SCREW THEM OVER since well...they dont' have that many customers?
