IP Adresses

I cant afford hosting and I think itll be awhile before I donate to the donut so I use an FTP server. Lately my server has been out of wack and didnt work for anything when everything was has it should be. And just today when I gave my friend my IP adress over AIM I relized my IP adress had completly changed. My question, are they suppose to do that?

depends. Some ISPs give you a dynamic IP which fishes one IP from a pool of possible user IPs every time you connect. Tis possibly what you have going on.
