Real Life Kite Remake

Did everybody hear that the dirctor of XXX and Fast and Ferious has aquire the rights the do a real life remake of the anime. He said he will keep the orginal action sequences but will cut all the sex scene the orginal had. Kite

nope never heard of that ... but kite with out the sex ... or just less of it ... sounds like every other american action movie to me ... i know that they are going to screw it up, they have to ... their north american ... it's holywood ... it's a rule, they have to blow it ...

Wow. THAT WOULD ONLY COMPLETELY CHANGE THE ENTIRE POINT OF THE MOVIE. I mean, this already happened the first time they released it and cut out all the sex scenes(about half the movie) Kite is one of those animes where the sex scenes actually did serve a purpose, and there being removed killed the whole point of the movie. The scenes were there to be shocking and be fucked up, and believe it or not, provide character development, not to get off to. And if you do get off to those scenes and then god help you. I mean, basicly, making a live action version of Kite without any of the fucked up sex shit would basically be making any generic live action movie with a female star. Of course, im talkin like this is true and not some bullshit rumour thats been made up. Whatever.

maybe thats why this movie didn't make any sense to me what-so-ever..... damn blockbuster

I've never seen it, but it does make sense that it would make it hard to understand the plot if they remove something that seems to be so vital.

lmao, a perv. trying to justify why the sex scenes should be left intact is hilarious. No, those scens are NOT vital to the story telling, they can be easily implied in another manner such as the cut version of the anime. It's not vital to have the sex scenes. Am I for the censorship? No, but I'm not making a big deal out of some sex scenes. If ya want sex...rent a porno.

Is it just me, or why are people remaking anime into live action? Wouldn't it just make more sense to show the anime? A live action Kite? Akira? Dragonball? Come on, people, how much money do you want to spend to create a live version of something already created? I could understand a little with Kite, since after editing out the sex it's only 45 minutes, but please. Spare me.

Umm...did you even read my post? First of all, I make no secret of my perverted nature OK, however, if actually read my post, I made it pretty clear I found the sex scenes in that movie ANYTHING but erotic. You're right about there being other ways of telling a story, however, that doesnt mean they are all equally effective. Without those scenes in there to shock and horrify and make you really understand what the characters went through, it kind of takes away the whole punch to the movie. Its like with Spiderman, instead of showing the part where he gets his powers, and then showing the part with his uncle dying at the hands of a man let go, They just opened the movie with a 30 second narative " Hi im spiderman, I was bit by spider that gave me super powers, then my uncle was killed by a man I let go so now to make up for it im a super hero" and them moved on from there. Kind of makes the movie a lot less interesting, and the characters a lot more 2 dimensional doesnt it? Also, if you read the other post in this thread, theres even a guy who said he watched the edited movie and it made no sense. Yes, I did read your post and I understood it perfectly. So you're a pervert and aren't ashamed to admit it, good for you! Sure, the sex scenes in Kite weren't erotic and weren't meant to be a handful of spankalicious fun, but you also have to understand that almost nobody sees the "art" behind sex scenes.

Umm...most people didn't find it horrifying, especially the general anime community. The female lead in Kite (her name excapes me at the moment) showed almost no signs of disgust. At least not to the point where people will see it as more than just another sex scene. It's plain and simple, it's a fuck fest.

You're argument with Spider-Man is almost irrelevant. They're two completely different subject matters and if you can't see that, than YOU'RE the ignorant one here.How can you compare sex with a background story with NO sex?

ANd how can you speak for everyone by one person's inability to understand the edited version of Kite? I watched the edited version long before I watched the uncut version and I understood it perfectly the first timne around. I honestly thought the sex in the uncut version was rather degrading and useless. The sex in kite is NOT art. It's just something to spank to, plain and simple.

I'm not saying ALL sex scenes in films are just for getting a boner, but it is very very VERY rare when a writer/Director includes a sex scene for more than just show.

The fact that you can't understand that only shows your ignorance. I understand you perfectly, but you refuse to see it from both sides. Maybe it was the way I said it, but all is said and done.
