If you got the money, the entire TV series (8 discs). It is by far my favorite anime of all time. It's got action, mecha, fantasy (D&D stuff), romance, comedy, etc.

Of course subbed, not that crappy Fox kids dub :-P.
What the hell are you talking about? Escaflowne never got a bad dub. Fox Kids is the one that butchered it. Too bad you don't have YTV, because they actually showed Escaflowne in its true form with the real music. The dub is pretty good.
Uhm...the Fox Kids dub is the same as the one that was shown on YTV and on the DVDs. I assume you are referring to the fact they butchered it and took scenes out. However, I still stand by my statement about the dub...wasn't talking about anything in the edits (although they ruined it).

I guess the dubs alright if you like Hitomi sounding like a ditzy and whiny girl (as opposed to the VERY talented (and cute :)) Maaya Sakamoto), a wussy Vaughn who can't scream (unlike the, debateably best male japanese voice actor, Tomukazu Seki), US Vegeta's VA as Allen (yeah same VA...that makes sense since Allen is such a violent and rough character. I WILL DESTROY YOU VAUGHN WATCH ME POWER UP!!!!), Dilandau sounding like a 5 year old having a temper tantrum (b/c US VAs aren't talented enough to pull this "complex" character off)...do I need to proceed further?

I know the whole dub/sub debate is in the air (not that I think it should be :-P), but I thought it was fairly accepted that the Escaflowne dub is bad whether you watched anime subbed or dubbed (shrug).
Well, I still stand by my statement in that the dub is good. I don't know what you have been listening to, but the dub isn't what you think it is. Strange that you think the VA are that bad, because they aren't.

Well, you gotta realize that I don't watch anime dubbed and am a purist/elitist or whatever derogatory term you'd like to label me as. Therefore, my aversion to dubs (ALL dubs not just US...anything not in it's native language) generally already biases me in a direction.

However, as I stated in my post, I find this one particularly bad. Things like Bebop I find quite good and a decent representation of the Japanese version. Although if given the choice I'll always pick the native language be it Japanese (anime), Korean (Attack the Gas station...yes you read that right), Chinese (Hero, Crouching Tiger), German (Run Lola Run), etc. As I have stated in earlier posts I just like hearing the originally intended voices.

Regardless, that is an argument for another time (and trust me it'll come up..again), so different strokes for different folks I guess...although my statements about the VA being Vegeta and stuff like that are facts in case you thought that was a joke or something.
