Amazing what people say in threads that start with such a simple question. I don't mean to criticize (since I definitely believe in freedom of speech, otherwise I might not post at all) but . . . oh, never mind. With the next thing I say I realize my opinions will be completely ignored.
I do agree with some of the things people have posted. Religious institutions have been twisted into something they were never meant to be. Regardless . . . I do want to believe that there is a point to this life, and we're not just aimlessly wandering about until we die and completely disappear from the universe, leaving behind only a few memories for those who know us until they too die. Does anyone want to believe in a meaningless existence? No wonder so many people are depressed.
I don't doubt there are lots of people who won't take me as seriously if I say I'm a Christian. And, please don't misread me here, with all honestly to myself and God, I can't say that I am. But I do believe there is a God, and that He created the universe and is still seeing it through today. Look around once and consider how complex things we take for granted are. If everything was an accident, it worked out much too perfectly.
There. Brand me as some theological nut if you want (I'm sure there's no way I can stop you), but, please, think before you respond. I believe one of the worst problems in modern society are people who disagree with something that they don't understand (whether they think they do or not).

Err... actually, science has pretty nicely explained how things work.Senna wrote:Look around once and consider how complex things we take for granted are. If everything was an accident, it worked out much too perfectly.
Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

Sience has yet to explain how the the amino acids were able to form into a cell without being combined with the oxygen (which the planet was needless to say ABUNDANT of.) in the atmosphere.
So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab

Oh, well that's got me convinced. There must be a god. Damn amino acids, always ruining my plans.CaTaClYsM wrote:Sience has yet to explain how the the amino acids were able to form into a cell without being combined with the oxygen (which the planet was needless to say ABUNDANT of.) in the atmosphere.
