The Wings of the Honneamise[/i]

The first Inu-Yasha movie is really good even if you haven't seen the series. Ah! My Goddess is pretty good too. I also have to recommend the Cowboy Bebop movie, that is really good.
See you space cowboy...
Miroku is a king among amine characters
Aliens, are you a peaceful race.
While hell yes, we are barbequing aren't we not.

Fist of the North Star?!?! O_o...the movie with random ppl punching a thousand times and heads exploding? Bah!

(reads rest of thread).

X?! X?!?!? The series is alright, but X was just a 20+ manga story condenced into 2 hours. It was pretty though....although boring.

ironic how the people that like the sereis hate the movie for not being like the series and the people that don't like the series don't like the movie because it's escaflowne. If you don't like better music, animaiton, story, characters than I can understand how someone could not like the Escaflowne movie.

I like the music and animation quite a bit. It's definitely top-tier. However, the story and characters? I think it's a bit easier to enjoy a story that is expanded and characters that have more depth. It's very difficult to portray a character, their past and motivations in two hours. I think only Hitomi and Vaughn were even (at all) developed. Allen was there for like 10 minutes, Millerna maybe 5?

Also the story isn't at all superb. It's not bad, but things happened too quickly and a lot is not explained (like well...the entire "Zaibach empire's" existence.). It seemed to me that they just wanted to create a movie for movie sake. Well...perhaps not...I know Shoji Kawamori has this thing for Fate and Love transcending worlds, so maybe he just wanted to say that again.

I guess you're entitled to like one better, but I find it a bit shocking that you find the story and characters better in a two-hour (squashed) version instead of the full 26 episode epic.
