back to the point, something just occured to me, in unit 01, shinji's mum was there. In unit 02, asuka mum was there, what the hell hapened with rei???? how did yui ikari soul manage to be in two places at once (unit 01 and Rei) some enlightenment please.
As to being a classic, no it cant. No anime where peoples clothes magicaly change when were not looking should be an classic (think to shinji dissapearing in unit 01, and ritsuko's amazing quick change in episode 1, swimsuit to uniform in the time it takes a lift to reach its destination.

This is by no means the DEFINITE truth from Anno, but my theory has always been that Eva Unit 00 has no soul (which you obviously figured out about Eva 01 and 02 and hence their pilots. Have a cookie). They say that Rei is pretty much just a body to house souls (since all the clones), so my guess is that Eva00 also possesses no soul or can just carry one (the pilot). Although alternatively, Rei *can* pilot Eva 01 which imply that she has Yui's soul b/c she needs something to synchronize with the soul in Eva01...herself. Pretty easy to sycn with yourself I guess. Again, this is by no means the right answer, just some things I can come up with at the top of my head.

Although not prfect, i've always ranked it high on my list.

Though ive only gain a greater appreciation of it lately.

Have you ever had times were all the things you could imagine could go wrong...does...all at once! After a few days of those you can sometimes be left feeling so sick and tired of it all. You asks yourself things like whats the point of it all.

During that night i happen to find out Death and rebith was showing on my cable TV. It was like a sign! LOL

Seriously though, with all the dramtic moments of the series shown at once, you can really feel the emotional aspects of the show! Its like i could see the emotions i had inside, right in front of me. It was like way for me to express what i felt.

I couldn't see it before, but that night i could truely appreciate the raw emotions Anno tried to convey in the series. I guess thats because he was actually in a state of depression, at the time he created the series, where he wanted to convey what he felt too (well im not sure exactly but i read that somewhere a while ago).

The series may not be for all, but i have to give it points for its endeavour to place states of the mind on screen.

Yeah he was in a state of depression when he *wrote* Eva. He wasn't afterwards since he had so much money

Maybe I was wrong but didn't it seem that Rei (without suit) created an AT field. Maybe she was an Angel as well. She did put up an "off the scale" AT field when Karou (sp?) was trying to get to "Adam" (which wasn't). So there must have been a bit of a soul there or something. Possibly bound but a soul ntl.

Yeah, disregard said comment (not sure if this thread or another). She has an AT field which of course means a soul (since it's what protects the soul). As for an angel, she's not an angel. My understanding is that there are JUST 17 angels...actually scratch that 18 (I've heard we're the 18th angel).

Everyone has an AT field, its what keeps everyone from turning into jelly (ala EOE). As for Rei's soul, it is the sould of Lilith, and Kaworu has the soul of Adam.
