Same reason why Marvel totally forgets the Straight to video Fantasitc Four movie...

The movie can be done... MetroLight Studios did Shaolin Soccer's effects pretty well and with new effects behing used in Hollywod these days (LOTR, T2, Matrix)... the look of the DB world doesn't seem that far off of being captured properly on the screen. The only problems that would cause this movie to suck is the acting situation and the scripting department.

If they take this movie seriously and get the proper actors... then that situation can be safe. Don't only think of who can fight... acting must be the focus. Also the script must be taken seriously, because if its weak... everything will fall apart.

It can be done... but should it?

Dunno about DB.
Akira on the other hand, I believe it has potential. And since the art style is very realistic, a live action Kaneda wouldn't look like crap.
I like bugging people. Deal with it.

Meh. Everyone I know fell asleep during Akira. I didn't like it too much myself(Didn't fall asleep, though). Sure it had a great storyline, but so did Earthian, and look where Earthian went.(Most people don't even know what Earthian is).

Anyway, I think a live action movie of Akira would flop.

As for Leo acting Trunks, besides the looks fitting, I think leo does a good acting job. I liked what he did in "Romeo + Juliet".. Can't say anything about "Titanic", though...

What's Eating Gilbert Grape and Basketball Diaries... Romeo & Julliet wasn't a good acting outing for Leo.

Meh. I thought Leo acts pretty well. And you can trust me, Leo's like the only actor's name I know. I mean, you could name someone like Brad Pitt and I'd go "Who's that?"

I'm not into the 'memorize an actor's name and see all the videos s/he's in just because s/he's in them' like evryone around me seems to like doing.. But then again, I'm a social outcast, so what do I have to say? :?

Seven was on the other night and it made me remember how good of a film Brad Pitt can kill with only 5 minutes (namely the end). Morgan Freeman and an excellent story took it so far and then Brad demonstrates how all that is not enough to withstand the power of his "No!! GOd...NO! AHh...no! COme on! It's not true righT?..." don't mind the overly capitalized letters, I am TRYING to convey how bad it was. :(
