Uh I don't know what happened in Way Off Topic but it sucks cause there were many funny posts. I say you should also not mod WOT either. It's "way off topic" right? So, why should validity or contents of posts be questioned? I think you should change Way Off Topic to FYAD Crazy Messed Up St00pid Topic (warning may contain various types of filth).

Hey,

The purpose of the Off Topic section is to collect the threads that don't really have anything to do with anime music videos (or combinations thereof). An example of General Off Topic is "US Bombs Iraq: Suck or cool?" An example of Way Off Topic is "Check this goofie flash movie of bunnies!" The WOT is not there to encourage crappy dumb posts, but is more of a trashcan for these topics. Members shouldn't cry if the trash get taken out. The forum is not meant for trash.

There's a post about a flash movie of bunnies in the WOT forum? I'm actually tempted to see if you're just making up a random title or if there really is something that off-topic in the...err...off-topic forum. Damn it...I've stayed clear of that forum too...too tempting to find out....argh!

then why is it even there if you don't allow trash posts? and why do you let the mods go deleteing posts when there is already auto pruning?

Hey CaTaClYsM,

People like to talk about many things. The purpose of the Off Topic section is to keep OT posts from spreading through the regular topic sections. There have been many requests for more specific topic sections (like games, art, etc.), but those topics are not what this site is about. There are plenty of other dedicated sites to those topics.

The mods did not delete all of the topics in WOT recently. I did. I woke up that morning and found that one particular member had polluted the entire WOT section with posts that clearly needed to be removed. Instead of me deleting literally 100+ threads/posts, I decided to just clean the entire section since I had to go to work. I knew that members would be surprised, but it is clearly stated that the posts in WOT were going to be pruned/deleted anyway. I am tempted to do the same with the rest of the OT section since most are not worthy of archiving anyway.

As far as I'm concerned, if a member spends more than 15%-20% of their time in the OT section, they are here for the wrong reasons.
