Leonardo DiCaprio playing as Trunks in a live DBZ movie?????

There's been a rumor going around my High school that Fox is making a live action DBZ movie. Well, at first I didn't believe it. I mean, my highschool's pretty messed up. It's taboo to say you're a DBZ fan, so even though practically everyone's a DBZ fan at my school, they all say they're not.. It's like.. "The Cool thing to do" even though the majority are DBZ fans. Anyhow..

I told all my friends about it, and started joking about how bad the movie was going to be with real AMERICAN actors yelling and screaming in english in a theater in surround sound.. Then then the whole turning super saiyan thing. Just very odd, and demented... Like Pokemon Live with that huge Mewtwo on stage(But that wasn't in a movie theater 0o).

One of my friends, who seems to be an avid DBZ fan, has kept me up to date on the whole thing. Going to various websites and whatnot. He now has an actor list of the ideal actors to play the parts, the believed to be saga that'll be the movie... Everything. Heck, the rumor is TRUE! It says it right here, on the official site!

Upon seeing the projected actors list I was so amazed and felt really.. Odd, I guess.
The thing that really caught my eye though, was the fact that everyone voted Leonardo DiCaprio to play Fiture Trunks. Trunks is my favorite character, and I never noticed till now, but damn, he probably would make the best Trunks ever. After seeing DiCaprio's work in "Romeo + Juliet"(1996 ver.) recently, Leo has the whole "My life's horrible you can't now how I feel" thing going for him. Not to mentiont he look as well.

So, I wanted all of your opinions on this. I'm not a huge DBZ fan, but you know I'm going to that movie when it comes out... On opening day... Just like I did for all those Pokemon movies....

All you DBZ haters will probably be flaming or crazy about how funny this movie will be, but.. Think of how funny it could be.. Those famous actors basically embarrassing themselves... Hell, I'd buy the DVD just for that!

But then again, there's always the fact that Us Americans are going to butcher the hell out of DBZ. Yet, how could you butcher a really dumb(In most people's eyes) anime anyway?

I'd just like to see y'all's reactions here. That is all.

You do realize these are just based on votes and not the officla cast right? I wasn't sure if you inferred that or thought these were the actors. I highly doubt even 50% of them will be the same. I think most of them would reject it purely on embarassment factor (shrug).

Yes, It's on votes, I don't know if I wrote that in or not.. Oh well. I'm sure the people will send the mauscript to those people anyway. You never know, they might do it for the money this thing might rake in.. It'd be the Pokemon francise all over again..

Gah, hell, they even had the Rock as a choice for Goku on one of the initial polls. Now THAT would've been hilarious.

well i knew there was gonna be a live action dbz movie a while ago but i never knew any of the actors. either way its gonna suck. a live action akira gonna suck too

Jackie Chan for Vegeta? And the Rock as Goku? Heck, sure I'd pay to see them fight. Good luck getting Mr. Chan to play a bad guy though, I don't think he's played a villian in a few decades.

sigh ... ther actualy making a movie of dragon balls? Hmm i don't suppsoe that trunks dies dose he? Danm, i'd see the movie jsut to watch leo die again (my favorite parts of titansic wehre when teh guy bounced off the propellor and when leo died)but oh well, lets see jsut how much they butcher a show thats alredy butchered by thr time it gets to north american shores.

perhaps the people who allow voting to go on in the pole, should first quiz the voters quickly to actually see if the voters have watched any of the damn show. i mean jet li for goku and jackie chan for vegeta? who are these dumb pathetic bastards? they must only know it would be an action movie involving martial arts for those two to get top votes. hmmm that part about vegeta and jet sounding alike was out of a little old magazine titled WIZARD. they do casting calls for stuff all the time and i remember i have that one and they even also said goldberg for nappa. hmmmm...robin shue as goku? i suppose it's less of a stretch than jet li at least. who the hell in there right mind would put the rock as goku? jesus some people need to be tied up and stuck in quicksand.
