From Mario Sunshine to Metroid to Zelda these are absolutely stellar titles. Zelda in particular stands out as one of the most polished gaming experiences I've ever had. Let the kids argue in their forums about its "new look" if they want to. They think it looks stupid or corny or whatever and that is to be expected. The fact is, most people don't appreciate art and that is what Zelda is. A group of children giggling in front of a nude painting doesn't mean it's a terrible painting. They simply are not sophisticated enough to appreciate it. It is the same with Zelda. Don't let the idiots dissuade you from picking up this game and enjoying it for what it is, an unparalleled and inspired work of interactive art." -- Gabe, Penny Arcade
Are you calling me an idiot because I don't like how it looks? Even when it's my own opinion to voice how it looks freaky?

o.O;;; And I thought Zelda was a game, not art.... Still looks freaky to me... like that Picaso's paintings, just, wierd, oh and for all of you it's not dude, it's dudette, you know, girl dude? I don't like being called dude as it is, I get laughed at enough for liking Dbz and being a girl. Wish I could go Super Saiyajin and beat the snot out of them...

That would be so cool... but unless I find a genie in a lamp or a Jinn, which is like a genie, I'm stuck with being a human..
I have never made but one prayer to God, a very short one: 'O Lord, make my enemies ridiculous.' And God granted it.

Never explain--your friends do not need it and your enemies will not believe you anyway.

imadude wrote:btw on your other question i dont know why they changed his look (im guessing to appeal to a younger crowd and/or potheads including me)
Actually the look of the game was changed becasuse LOZ's creator (Shigeru Miyamoto) didn't like the direction he saw Link going. He said in an interview that he had always seen Link as a kid and the graphical change reflects that. He also talks about the style change of the game a bit here.

The game is going to kick ass. If you (not referring to you imadude, just in general) can't get past how it looks then it's your loss, because once you start playing you stop noticing whether it's cell-shaded or not. I was vehemently against the new style of the game, until I played the demo of it. Professional666's quote from Penny Arcade was spot on; it's about the experience.
Besides, if you want adult Link in a more traditional fashion, then you can get Soul Caliber 2 for GC, which is also going to kick ass.

And just one more random thing: Has anyone seen the commercial for LOZ: The Wind Waker yet? I'm talking about the one with the little girl (who you find out is Zelda by the end of the commercial) trapped across the sea on a mountain who talks about Link's adventures and his destiny ("Which is above all else: to save...me.").
But it mentions one thing that has me wondering a little bit. At one point in the commercial she says something like "There is a story held dear by the royal family of Hyrule. The adventures of a boy who became a man."

It could just be me reading into things too much (hasn't been mentioned in any reviews I've read), but if Link were to grow into an adult again in this game, that would certainly be cool.
You can see the commercial here.
Everyone is not the same as you.
Get over it.

I just think she meant that he became a man through the brave deeds he had to accomplish to rescue her, not that he became a man chronologically (ie. grew to adulthood).

That's basiclaly what I figured, it was just me wishing for more Ocarina of Time-like goodness. But hey, that's why I've got the bonus disc for GC. :) Maybe I'll finally get my fill before Wind Waker arrives.

What he's saying is Link must unlock the true power of the "Master Sword".

Link may run into some obstacles, though, considering ZELDA was once a MAN...
