FLCL availability
i was looking around on HMV's website, those guys are my anime outlet when i want to buy anythign since they are just about the only place i can go to order any thing. But any ways i was looking around and i noticed that they didn't ahve anything for FLCL ... now i'm wondering if it's available but really obscure, or if it's still scheduled for release in Canada ... i have a feeling that its jsut pretty obscure in canada ... which is going to be annoying because obscure stuff is very expensive ... danm i need a job ...

Well I've got my lovely R4 Australian release. It isn't in Canada yet? That's wierd... ummm, yeah wierd. Well if your player can do PAL and it's R0 you could get the AU DVD(only the first vol is available so far)... oh wait the Canadian dollar isn't that much different from the Australian Dollar... well you you won't get screwed on the currency conversion as much... www.madman.com.au

Yeah, you should be able to get the 1st 4 (out of 6) episodes on 2 R1 DVDs although Synch Point hasn't released the third and last volume yet. According to Right Stuf, volume 3 is supposed to come out on May 30, 2003, but Synch Point has been delaying the releases for more than a year already, so who knows when it'll really come out.
My favorite video: Grilled Steak Trigun I LOVE THE COPS! Rargh!

I for one am very frustrated they did this in three discs. They better using like 8 Mbs for their encodes or something to be using the entire 4.7 GBs up (which I highly doubt). I guess when it's a show people want, they'll pay anything. 6 episodes for 60.00?! I think the first Kare Kano DVD has 6 episodes for liek $17.00. Argh..should stop ranting!paizuri wrote:Yeah, you should be able to get the 1st 4 (out of 6) episodes on 2 R1 DVDs although Synch Point hasn't released the third and last volume yet. So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab

You would prefer one per disc? Why? I'm guessing you want the quality, but that'd be an absurb bit rate to fill up 4.7 GBs.AbsoluteDestiny wrote:The japanese release of FLCL was one episode per disc.
Personally, I'd have preferred Synch Point to do it like that, but that's just me.

Yeah well I'm in Canada as well and I shop around alot more for my
anime DVDs [Future Shop, HMV, Music World, Rogers Video, Blockbuster]
and I have never seen FLCL. With that said I had to make a special order
at HMV just to get Ghost in the Shell. And I cant even find NGE beyond
15-17.
So you might want to see if they can order it in, there could
be some copies lying around in their warehouse or something.

I strongly suggest DVDPriceSearch. I use them ALL the time. You can look for a title and it will give you a comparison of every available store and thus you can get it at the cheapest price. I don't think I've ever paid more than $17.00 for a Single DVD (ones with the box generally run around $25.00 compared to $40.00). I hope this helps.
