Anime Movies, Download or Buy...?

I download first, then if I happen to like it a lot, I go out and buy it. Although I usually feel ripped off after I buy them though...

if there was to be a legit vendor who sold digital copies of an anime movie that i wanted, i wouldnt' mind paying and downloading it.

i mostly dl anime that will ever come out in the u.s.a like mega man.exe and final fantasy unlimited. i have dl'ed stuff from golden boy but i went and rented them after that. if you dl a whole series the company loses a lot of money. if we all did that they could not make any more anime so STOP!

Hmmm....

I would love 2 say buy ém, but who has that kind of money ??
It get's awefull expensive real quick, if You feel the addiction to watch at least four if not more series per day.
I sure don't have that kind of money. 8)

I buy them, i just neglect other things

Haven't bought a new pair of socks so long that the holes are so big i'm starting to ponder using them as neck warmers come winter.
If i like something, i support them by buying it, i do with with Music and Anime. However, music is asking a bit much these days.

Anime movies only really 30 dollars.. hasn't been a anime movie out for ages so i'm just buying series,
30 dollars a fortnight as they are released i'm not doing to badly..
I've got up to 60 DVDs these days.
Just bought my DVD Box set for Noir, comes with T-shirt (I was hoping for socks)

Yup, that's how the economy works. If we don't support the anime companies, less anime will come out and in the end both us and the companies lose. It's a circle.

With that said though, I am like you, I dl'ed what shows have not been licensed in the US yet and if I like them, when they are released, I buy them. I might also add it means more source for AMVs right?

As for poor college kids (like I used to be), you can always rent and borrow right? I don't think being poor gives you any excuse to do something illegal. I mean do poor people go to the supermarket and just take food because they're poor and can't afford it? It doesn't really make sense to say "Well I wouldn't have bought it later" because well...you were interested enough to download and watch it (which is the purpose of buying).

Buying consumes money and downloading consumes time. There are some anime that I think are ok that I will download so i dont waste my money, but anime that i know will be great for sure i buy it...
I got a friend who bought the Cowboy Beebop bootlegged. For $30, he got all 26 episodes in three DVDs. Quality was perfect, all the extras were there, bout the only difference is the option to put chinese subtitles.
Or.... you can do what I do.
Go to Suncoast or something, bring a tiny little knife with you to cut the plastic, remove the metal bar, and walk out happily.
I've saved myself alot of money this way.
