1) They blocked his IP. He can't get a new name. It's not that simple.V3n0m wrote:or C JUST HAVE PANDA GET A NEW NAME, not that hard, you all seem like your crying over spilt milk that needs to be cleaned up
i admit i dont know panda, or any of u BPPB guys or whatever, im sure pandas a cool person in one way or another unless he's a... eh i wont say that word here, seems like you guys all quit spamming this topic when it moved, lack of attention
2) He really didn't do anything wrong to get re-banned in my opinion. He posted information that was RELEVANT to the current discussion. It got whiped out by the mods. He called them out on it. He got banned. Those are the facts.
Now the topic was appearantly an old one of much controversy, which the Phade has taken as a sign that SpPanda is not ready to be back from his initial ban. I still think that posting something that is relevent to current discussion is not a bannable crime. He just came back during a time where his VALID input on the current conversation got him blacklisted.
Now, copy and pasting from an old thread into a brand new thread seems to be the issue. He was bringing it up really to add a dimenstion to the debate in another thread. If he had merely placed a link to the original thread in my thread, he appearantly wouldn't have been banned according to conversations I have had. To me, that is symantics. When you really look at the case, it just wasn't fair. I will continue to wear the banner and the icon until I feel justice has been done.
However, as I have stated before, the opinions of people on this matter has been heard. The ball is now in Phade's court. He needs to decide on his actions. I guarentee you that nothing more that is said here will sway his decision one way or another. It's time for this thread to die.

You know, in a lot of instances it's very easy to change your IP, plus the fact that he could just post from his school or wahtever

AOL has some benefits
like dynamic IPs. No IP banning without risking banning some other random aol user. Not that it matters, since every sign-on a new IP is assigned.
Not that I'd ever need to make use of this nifty feature :l ..
Its possible to ban the entire aol server, which would however ban everyone using aol :\

That still doesn't stop your NIC address, which can also be blocked/ignored.RadicalEd0 wrote:AOL has some benefitslike dynamic IPs. No IP banning without risking banning some other random aol user. Not that it matters, since every sign-on a new IP is assigned.

Uh... all OS's let you change your IP. In many networks you have to manually configure your IP address to have your system come alive on the network.Lyrs wrote:thinking of ip, i read an article that winxp allows people to change their ip's and that's why some people are calling winxp a platform for hackers.

Now, (and I'm not sure if this is against the forum rules because it is discussing Hacking) spoofing an IP address is possible. It's not easily accomplished under windows because windows doesn't come with compiling tools and libraries for writing your own programs like linux/unix based systems. Spoofing IP addresses means you masquerade like another IP address and send data into the network as if it came from somewhere else. Unfortunately any data that would return to your computer instead would be routed to whereever that other system is. If your system (network wise) lies between the server and the computer you are pretending to be, you can intercept the packet and send appropriate responses. Otherwise you can one side script communication and assume the server is sending back proper responses. It's all internet theory but I'm not going into details as to how you do it, but IP spoofing is the a big part of performing untraceable actions on the internet.
