who does the best job subbing
if you had to order the quality of each groups (Fansubs, HK DVDS, and Domestic DVDs) subbing for best to worst how would it go?
So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab

I, do, don't I? well they are all legitimate questions. (or statements.)

I say it's domestic, then HK, with fansubs being the wildcard. They can be better or worse than HK depending on who is doing the translating.

I'd say Fansub, then domestic then HK alothough sometimes the last two are the other way around. Fansub are much more natural than domestic and the HK subs are just incoherant sometimes.

ever seen the domestic DVD compared to the fansubs of shows like FLCL and Excel saga? the people that did Excel saga probably didn't even know wtf was goign on half the time. the subbing was completely off alot of the time.

no I haven't seen either of those anime but most of the ones that I have seen where I could compare, the HK or Fansub jobs have been better alot of the time. Fansubs generally don't translate everything so it makes sense like in Kenshin, the domestic version translates things like Battosai and goziro na which is just a samurai formality but they translate them into things like manslayer and that it is etc. Because the people translating actually care about it they seem to put more time and effort in, it doesn't seem so generic if you know what I mean.
Maximo, are you a communist, why do we need uniformity?
