Am I the only one getting sick of the AMV scene?

I honestly have to agree though. Really it's more evident on the forums but a lot of people do complain a lot. I normally just ignore it but it's kind of sad. I've been in the AMV community for about five years now which means, yes, I was starting when I was 15 (explains the crap I produced back then). But really, the demeanor on the list compared to the forums is vastly different and seems more friendly and proffessional. I like the idea of friendly competition and honestly if a video gets shown at a convention I think that's enough since really all I ever want is recognition for my work. Now admittedly we do have some new people out there that are pretty cool who I don't mind talking to but there are others that can make the environment less than pleasent.

Alright, I'd like to take a moment and defend the chat, since I (like koop and nme) frequent there. The chat is a great place to go when you're in the middle of editing and need a break, it all depends on who's in there, but for the most part its great. Also, if you have a question about amvs, 9/10 times you can get the answer there.

Boo-dee-fucking-hoo.

"I don't like the community anymore! They're immature! All my friends have gone 'cause they didn't like it here anymore! I'm taking my ball and going home!"

Cry me a river. Build a bridge across said river. Get the hell over it.

People change. Communities evolve. It's the nature of the human species. If you don't like it, or can't handle it here, leave. No one is holding a leash on your neck. I don't particularly like it here, but I consider it a necessary evil to form connections between people I wouldn't normally meet. If you want to create drama out of meaningless idiots ranting about whatever color socks they're wearing, or how many "noobs" they've eaten in OT, be my guest. But don't say the whole community is going to hell in a handbasket, just because some noob got your panties in a bunch just cause he hasn't had deep conversations with Brad, Hsien, or EK, and he told you off. This is not high society, this is setting music to anime, and creating a very subjective form of art. If that has become to much to handle, step back, look at yourself, and ask yourself why you're doing it.

"Kill the drama before it kills us."
--Danny, to a girl at a party who was crying because her boyfriend had broken up with her for the fourth time that month.

Once again. Danny puts it all into perspective. I was sorta saying the same thing. Only not in so many words.

Get over it. Drama queens are bitchy and stupid. And frankly no one likes them.

This is preceisly the attitude that really shouldn't be acceptable in an online community. Instead I see people give you a "right on". You've just directly insulted me to call me a cry baby. I wonder if you would say that to me in real life. Is that how you really treat people?

No THAT is the kind of weak crybaby shit that I shouldn't have to listen to. Talk to La Familia. This is EXACTLY how I act in real life. I don't give a fuck, and I don't have a tolerance for bullshit. I would say the exact same thing to your face, until you proved otherwise to me. You have to earn my respect. I don't give it out for free. I have spent far to long in the military to think otherwise. I ain't hidin behind no keyboard here, bub, and I ain't no kid. So if you're trying to start a fight with me, set the time and place. I'm just trying to set a perspective on what's going on here. And if you think I'm just a kid tryin to be bad with no vids or cons under my belt, go ahead and delude yourself. It's easier for me that way.
