So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab

The right...

Post by OmniStrata » Sun Mar 16, 2003 12:07 am

Defend the right...

I don't feel like reading all 9 pages of this mish mash [as Aeka would say] but I will say this...

The instant someone whines is the instant someone loses. Those of you complaining about the way amv editors and fans are becoming aren't gonna solve the problem... At all... You can go ahead and complain but your complaints fall on deaf ears. What do I say to this? LIVE WITH IT...

We are all under the same sky after all. The people who have said: "I'm leaving because this place is degrading" are in my eyes the immature ones. It's the same as children where the ones who have been playing too much may get singled out by the new comers and when they get picked on a bit, they say "I'm sick of you all, I'm leaving :p" The more mature/reasonable ones can stick it out... Why? Because they choose to tough it out the way a person faces ALL problems... Leaving is a "false" elitist way out. I see that now. Especially like Kevin Caldwell's retirement. "I'm sick of what's happening here, I'm leaving..."

From one perspective, it may seem the mature thing, but from mine, it's the weak thing. These people are trapped in a corner, kind of like a mugger victim, they just give up by leaving. That's what I think...

So the place is falling apart? How optimistic of you to say this... [ ] I see changes occuring. This place is like the news media on tv. People ONLY see the bad things... There are GOOD TO GREAT editors coming out of the woodwork that have stunned me beyond belief. One of them being Koopiska! He practically came out of nowhere... ^_^

Why not focus on the good things that come out of here instead of the bad...

Better yet, why not all you "this place is bad now" people just be like KC and just get up and leave? That's fine by me... Less whiners and more noobs will make the room change... If the new people turning up even RESEMBLE Koop, then yes, CHANGE IS GOOD...

earthcurrent: Your capacity to carry on a mature and reasonable debate
stuns me.

The irony is that I now understand why someone could get sick of the
community.

Heavens no!!!11one

CaT: I can understand your concern, but honestly, are you that insecure about your forum handle that you can't take light of the situation and think of it as mildly humorous? I think that if someone made a thread to "I had sex with Rozard, and it was great!" I would be estatic (seeing as I'm a virgin :P ) I'd probably reply with something like "Yeah, I did too. His dick is small," or something. Honestly, if there's one thing I could say to every single person in the world, it would be to lighten up a little :?

I could be wrong Rozard, but I think the "Sex w/mommie = WIN" or
whatever it was is really peripheral to the real issue here. It seems to
me that it's more of a backlash against how the mods conduct their
business around here. But you do raise a good point, although lighten up
should not be read as "make stupid ass jokes to derail serious threads",
which it frequently seems to be.

this comming from a person that makes AMV's with fansubs.
