DUDE! That pissed me off. And Kitsune was HOT in the manga. Then I hear her English voice and I wanna puke. But once again this goes back to what I was saying about bringing a foreign culture into a form we can understand. From what I understand Kitsune's dialect is actually supposed to be from southern Japan. But dear GOD why'd they have to make her sound like something from Gone With the Wind. I live in the south and I've heard a LOT cuter accents than that.

well, all my anime is on my computer, so if i want to read the sub titles i jsut pause and read ... which isn't reallya a very good habbit, like corran said, subtitles can help make youa faster reader ... so i should probably stop pausing and just get used to it.

As for learning languages ... i know that they can be pretty difficult, exspecialy if your not taught when your young. i can't remember who worte it but i read in a book how somone compared infancy to a time of forgetting, because when we are infants apparantly our tounges are capable of forming all the sylables that are used in the human languages, and as we learn one language and learn how to articulate words in one languare, we forget how to form the sylables that make up other languages.

And, i personaly know how difficult it is to try to learn a language. When i was in early elementry school, i never liked french, so i'd just sit in the corner and read. Eventualy i started to try learning french ... and god was it ever hard, i still know next to nothing when it comes to french. But the ironic thing is that i learned english by accident ... The first language i learned to speak was italian, and i was pretty danm good for a 2 year old, then i started watching tv and i learned english and forgot italian... danm i hate my one track mind!

that jsut remeinded me ... the college i'm going to next years offers a corespondance for the thrid or forth year of the program i'm taking ... if i were to take it i could spend a year in japan working for a hardware or software company if i were to complete the 3 required japanese language courses ... or wait ... was it humber or sheridan that offered it ... danm it it was Sheridan! Shit!

Japanese is harder than french. At least french is based off of (roughly) the same alphabet as English and every other European based language. Japanese is based off it's own alphabet, and while we can romanize it, it's not perfect. We can SAY they have R sounds in japanese, but they don't really, they have sort of a cross between R and L. We just romanize it as R since it's the closest approximation our language has to offer.

I usually always watch sub, unless there is no choice. Two animes though, I thought the sub was better than the original, Cowboy Bebop and Hellsing. You just gotta love them english accents. :P

and i never said that french was harder then japanese. it's a totaly different thing to any one who is used to the romantic languages (latin based) or english. I used french becuse it was the closest experience i had, next to italian, which i still have a somewhat loose grasp of.

Not to mention the three alphabets you have to learn (kanji, katakana and hiragana). Don't mind me...just making fun of the japanese for having three alphabets :-P
