Its wrong, WTF is wrong with Japan!

Now this subject really angers up the blood so Ill refrain from FUCK and BASTARDS and SONSOFBITCHES has much has possible.

Robot love is so hidiously wrong. Chobits and HandMaidMay are THE animes I hate because of this. I admit there good series for someone who can stand that sick fettish but not me. I just think robot love is wrong. Its like japan trying to teach you dont go for the girl next door or at your job or anyplace you see thats willing you give her self up to you at any given time. Go hump your toaster and share sweet memories with it. Thats just sick alright! I really could go futher but not without really socking it to japan. Those bastards...

*sigh, im sorry for this post but this is something that just angers me and i was wondering if anyone else thought robot love was wrong.*

Armitage is kinda in that catagory, though it took the issue in a very different direction.

I can see where you are coming from, but isn't it aimed at the male fantasy to have a female totally at your whim no matter what you ask? If I can recall, that seems to be what many male car enthusiasts claim makes their cars better than women. That way...I suppose it's both.

At the end of Chobits, there is evidence that the persocons undergo some kind of transformation (based on the anime not manga). From what I saw the persocons became human. I mighr be wrong, but oh well.

As far as loving a robot goes I really see no problem with it I guess. Its about the same as a human falling in love with an alien. Just because they are not the same doesn't stop their love for one another.

no, i think thats Freude ... men make up for other "inadequacies" by going for the bigger is better approach... in other words to make themselves feel better for having small peckers they go for big cars, big gun, big money ... and anything else thats big and that they think will compensate for having a small dick. The funny thing is that i never spent a day in a psych class ... damn, i listen too much. But yea, it could also be like that ... making an awesome car, a machine that is totaly under your control, and thus making it an extension of "yourself"... of i think thats how it would work... danm i dont even know what i'm ranting about any more, i hate when this happens ... <sulks off>

But what if a human falls in love with...say a furby. (strictly platonic, please!) They respond to it, it responds back but it's not really showing love, it's imitating it. So say humans can create an AI that is really good at pretending to imitate.

Is it actually returning feelings or are all the love feelings merely what you are projecting onto it, back towards yourself? Or perhaps like people who baby talk their dogs and 'speak' for the animal saying it loves them...whilst the dog looks ready to bite or apathetic.

It's the human making the love connection. </pun

It's not suprising Japan has so many scenerios with AI, they are the leaders in the advancement towards intelligent human like robots.

AI was a great movie.

If people can create love due to love lost, they will do so in whatever form they need to. This applies to any kind of love. Even if the love is superficial, the creator is fine with that as long as they can believe it's real. Just let people live with their pleasant little delusions.
