DVD -> Premiere = Confused

Post by Wicked » Thu Mar 13, 2003 11:38 am

I have downloaded AMVapp and I have read the guide. I can't open the AVS file in Premiere. I get an error. I have no idea why it's not opening. I followed the Guide: I used DVDDecrypter to create the VOBs, then DVD2AVI to create a project. I then used Notepad to create my AVS file (and yes, i made sure that it was a .avs file and not a .txt file). My AVS file has one line, and it says:
MPEG2Source("C:\animevobs\berserk17.d2v")
When I try and open the AVS file in Premiere, I get an error on line 1: "unrecognized exception." Since the Guide is very straightforward, I double checked my steps and re-created the VOBs and DVD2AVI project. I got the same resutls. Needless to say, I am very frustraited!

My question is this: What are some common problems with the "unrecognized exception" error. I have double-checked my pathname and spelling, so I don't think that is it.

Also, does anyone know of an alternate way of getting VOBs into Premiere?

Delete the file called "dvd2avi.ini"

Redo your dvd2avi project files.

Try again.

Thanks for the info, I'll try that tonight (I'm at work right now :D ). I'll post my results.

BTW, congradulations on your recent awards for Shameless Rock Video! I haven't been able to see the video yet, can you post a link where I may be able to download or see it?

I'm afraid popularity limits it's downloadability - I cant afford the bandwidth.

It may be back up soonish though.

Thanks for the interest.

I deleted the ini file, and re-built the project and I got "unrecognized exception" in line one. My AVS file contains:

MPEG2Source("C:\animevobs\berserk17.d2v")

I"m using

DVD Decrypter 3.1.4
DVD2AVI_1.77.3
AviSynth 2
Premiere 6.0

This is such a perfect quote. Pure gold.

I think lots of us said this the first time we fired up ye olde editing program with serious intent.

One word for you. Perserverance.

Good luck!
