I put an FAQ on that a little while ago. part of the palladium thing. Not just AMD and Intel it's Microsoft, music and movie industry as well.SS5_Majin_Bebi wrote:Mmm, that does look interesting. Expensive too, but. Hey did you hear that AMD and Intel have joined forces to work on a new chip after AMD gets out its latest pride and joy?

The newest version of windows will have software built in to make ripping dvds and burning mp3s hard if impossible. This is the bullshit that microsoft is trying to fight Bill gates oldest enemy piracy! I my self have windows xp home on my new laptop I like it so far I haven't had to register it. My main computer of course has windows 98se as long as stuff still runs under it. I was one of the last holdouts for 3.11. I didn't stop using that until 2000.

[quote="bttws"]aside from the stupid name, they are introducing a new file system, that is "easier and faster" which translates into "slower and cumbersome"

I agree its st00pid....
but apparently the file system will allow HDs to have about a couple of tetrabytes or something...

Windows 98 sucks! Windows 2k and XP are far better (because of the swiped linux code?).
If you are lucky, try to get your hands on a corporate edition.
No registration or E.T. effect then (you know calling home to MS and so).
By the way: Try to avoid using the MS update system!
Since the release of SP1 it's sending detailed information about your hardware to MS.
Ans sign the petition against Palladium/TCPA!

it looks great but all that eye candy and the 64bits isnt really needed. it would just slow it down. but all that media shit great.and it wont be out for a while cause it would probally need a really good processor. but all of u that say xp is slow............ buy a bunch of 1gig ram sticks and copy xp onto that instead of the hard drive. since ram loads faster that the harddrive windows will run superfast

Nice but they currently don't have a backup system and they are really expensive.
