What do you call an anime DVD conversion...?

Post by Bushido Philosopher » Fri Feb 28, 2003 11:50 pm

I would like to call it a fansub, but since I'm using the DVD's subtitles then it's not morally right to call it a fansub.

So anyone have any ideas as to which these can be called? I wanna be politically/morally correct.

Are you talking about full-length episodes encoded from a DVD :o.

I don't like DVD-Rip.

It sounds like you killed the DVD.

I prefer to say DVD Challeneged Anime, because in its truest since a "DVD-Rip" is a DVD with out a DVD disc, right?

DVD-Rip is anything from a DVD-source.

Alot of illegal stuff is marked as being DVD-Ripped. If he's using subs off the disc >_> and has plans to distro it then it would be illegal and I would rather have it called a DVD-Rip.

Other then that name, there really isn't a actual name for anime taken from a R1 DVD stealing their subtitles.
