This is the creation of our OWN series with anime inspirations, but it will be indeed live action. Tachibana High School. The inspirations come mostly from dramatic shoujo anime, but there will be no super powers, mahoshoujo's or giant robots. Tachibana is a unique boarding high school in Sendai, Japan, where 30% of it's students are American transfers. There will be language barriers, cultural barriers, stereotypes, and everything.
What makes it interesting? Well, I'm afraid many of you are getting that 'It's going to look like power rangers, isn't it? :X' mentality. God, I hope not. We've had to do a lot of researched though, to avoid it looking like 'losers that like anime with DV cams.

The production WILL be culturally correct, meaning white people playing Americans and Asians playing American and Asian roles. No pearl skinned, blonde haired, big chested Asian girls here. (i.e. Sailor Moon, or any other blonde anime character)
The dialog is still up in the air, I'd live to have it done about equal between English and Japanese, with the Americans speaking flawed Japanese and Japanese using english. (Flaws, as in Americans not using honorisms, or always using English for more common phrases, poor grammar structure, all that.) I'd love to get a 70/30 ratio of English to Japanese, but that depends on weather or not you can effectivly force feed the actors their lines in Japanese. We may just do it all in English, and tell anyone that asks what's up with that, that it's a dub. XD
The School: Well, you may be thinking we're planning to film this inside our own high school, right? Wrong. Tachibana is a private boarding school, meaning it'd be higher class that any PS # we go to, there would be no lockers, and there would be dorms. So, we're going to use an Aeronautical technical school, and alter the skyline and surroundings digitally, to turn our city of 50 000 people into a Pacific metropolis.
This is the building in the pre-CGed state:

The admin is really nice, it has lots of empty space, they even run the YMCA out of there, with a summer camp day camp to-boot. The RADAR dome you see will need to be removed, there's also am F-86 Saber along one wing that will need to be avoided.
The logo:
Oh yes, we have a nice logo, though it will be redone to created the 6th generation since it's origins from mid 2001.

The uniforms:
Well be using custom made sei fuku's for the girls, along with something that resembles the boys uniforms from Eva for the boys. Uniform color scheme will always be Black, white, red. This includes gym uniforms, the works. But the uniforms won't be seen much in the actual production.

(These uniforms we're produced in Photoshop, to supply a visual reference for the costume shop people)

This is the girls gym top, this one's real, that's a friend of mine, she'll won't be in the production, but she makes a nice model.

The Music:
Opening Sequence; "Fly High - Ayumi Hamazaki"
Ending Sequence; "Audience - Ayumi Hamazaki"
Background; "The Test - Chemical Brothers", "Let Forever Be - Chemical Brothers", "Right here, Right now - Fat Boy Slim", "Alive Alone - Beth Orton"
There would be others used in the background as well, and those aren’t even definite, with the exception of the OP and ED. And weather or not we can do Lina's psycho-alter-hallucination scene well.
So, any comments or questions? ^_^
Also, if anyone out there that is skilled with Adobe Aftereffects for the use of video layering and effects, they would be a great help, all other technical skills have been found locally, with myself as director and editor.
Did I mention we even found a long blonde haired bishounen? >:D[/img]
