Akuma was actually introduced first in Street Fighter II Turbo, I believe it was. You had to do some sort of secret in the arcade and he would then show up and kick M.Bison's butt right before the second round began. The Alpha series just expanded on him and Ryu's back-history. The events in Street Fighter Alpha series take place time-line wise before the Street Fighter II series why do you think Charlie instead of Guile is in the Alpha series? In any case after watching episode 1 of Robotech today on Giant Robot Week and watching episode 1 of Macross Zero. I'm almost positive that Macross Zero is Robotech/Macross's prequel, meaning that Macross Zero's story and events takes place before the events in Macross/Robotech. It centers around the war that Roy and also I think Rick Hunter's dad fought to bring world peace to the Earth, just a few years before the SDF-1 crash lands on Macross Island. The spiritualism stems from the native inhabitants of Macross Island believing in a prophecy of a bird man that will come from the heavens. If you still have trouble understanding what a prequel is from my examples, here's the dictionary definition for simplicity's sake:

prequel n. : A literary, dramatic, or cinematic work whose narrative takes place before that of a preexisting work or a sequel.

Well anyway, Mezzo Forte and Kite are pretty bloody, Do your parents know you watch that stuff Wolfwood? Anyway, Hellsing is bloodier, not only for the vast amounts, but being a vampiric anime, that is a big focus of the story/plot. Blood and vampires go hand in hand.

Nope, they don't know.

No way Hellsing is bloodier, there was barely any bloodshed. Kite and Mezzo are way more graphically violent.

3x3 Eyes goriest anime. Yokamo gets creamed every five minuets. he's head even hells off, now all he needs to do is get choped in half.

In Mezzo Forte, one guy get's beat in the face with a metal baseball bat until he dies, one guy get's his fingernail broken off, other guys get shot in the head, an android gets raped *yuck*, etc.

I've only seen clips of Kite, but it looks pretty gory from the clips I've seen.

kite i believe is worse than mezzo .. even for the sole reason kite .. doesnt even attempt at humor .. its more of a drama ish movie ... but i do like how in mezzo they constantly have references to kite .... watch closely ...

Since Wolfwood has CLEARLY not seen Hellsing yet I am going to ignore his post and I hope the rest of you do as well.

But now to reasons why hellsing is bloodier there will be spoilers

People getting their heads ripped off while aluacrd drinks their blood, integral stabbing herself in the neck, celes victoria (think thats here name) Feeding on blood, (there are a few scenes.) Alucard fighting with incognito and celes gets gutted, and these are just of the top of my head mind you, but I can to and watch through again to fidn EACH and EVERY scene, if need be.

Cat ... i think in terms of overall blood .. hellsing wins .. but in terms of the blood per sec ratio ... Kite beats the shit outta it with a stick ... dont get me wrong .. i loved hellsing .. but they charge an arm and a leg for official dvd's .. and you need the whole set ..c ause once u start watchin hellsing .. tis hard to stop

.... while kite is in a nifty 40 minute package of red tinged goodness.

There was one scene where celes victoria had (forget if it was a vision or a dream) stood in a SEA of blood. Kite my have a higher ratio, but in terms of overall blood, and greatest amount of blood in one scene, hellsing still wins.

Beserk is a good one. The first ep alone had a shit load of blood. ep 6 was another bloody one (still have to watch eps beyond 6).

kite is a popular gory one.

Reign is a bloody one, from what i've seen (eps 1 & 2) but not many people like that series. (don't start another flame war about reign, post all reign comments here)

can't think of any others right now.
