Oh My Goddess! - Make Your Own Dub

Well, someone had to do it someday... Hell, they gave you the option on the DVD!

Basically, the AnimEigo DVDs for Oh My Goddess came with an audio track that had no dialogue, but all the music and sound effects. They called it "Make Your Own Dub" mode, or something similar.

Has anyone out there ACTUALLY done this? My girlfriend, some others friends of mine, and I are actually gonna dub it.. We are thinking of doing an actual good dub job on the first episode, and then doing the rest of the episodes funny and silly. (Stuff like giving Belldandy a big manly voice, etc...)

Anyway.. I ripped the DVD, got the audio to sync up in Premiere with an AVIsynth file, and tried putting vocal audio over the dialogue-free sound track.. And it worked. Belldandy was actually a wave of my girlfriend saying "Oh, because the audio still goes through. I forgot about that. Haha." - And we watched it a few times, laughing a lot, and thinking to ourselves how cool this is gonna be

Yep, normally I hate dubs, but one I make myself can't be bad

PS I know fandubs suck ass. In this case, that's the point!

SOunds like a cool idea, if I could I would do the same but I cant. I tried doing the same back when I was into DBZ and my friends and I dubbed the 7th movie, 10 bucks says that ours is probably better. lol

I imagine so... the casual-fansub community is about 85% girls, so you'd think they'd have latched onto that.

But then it's been a while since I checked.

I probably wouldn't stick it online, because I know I suck at it (I keep getting cast as the same character, that tells you something about my range), and errrr, there's enough suck in the world without contributing.

But if it's just for fun, why not. It's like karaoke. Which is just horrific enough to be fun. 8)

Or maybe it's because AnimEgo did such a bad job in the first place. Instead of fixing it, they gave the viewer the option of doing their own...
"Now you do better" They'd say... or something like that.

I was going 2 have a go at the dub option but I have no idea how 2 either. I liked the comentary by the voice actors though, that was hillarious!
