Sadly, a lot of dubs are really bad.
I have a real vendetta against the early Pioneer Dubs.
The Tenchi OAV dub and the Armitage III OAV Dub were reasons for me to pour scalding tar into my ears! TAR I SAY!
Of course, I still have HUGE issues with the "Robotech" dub. It's a shame when the voice that's suppose to save the world sounds like a goose hurtled into the food processor feet first.
True... there are MANY reasons why dubs end up being horrible... and not all dubs are terrible...but I'm not going to get into that conversation again right now.

There are two kinds of people in this world:
Those who divide people into two kinds of groups
and those who don't.

I too have to admit that a lot of dubs are pretty bad. But that doesn't mean that I don't still enjoy them. Some that I still enjoy are Vision of Escaflowne, Medabots, Yu-Gi-Oh! (all on TV). And on DVD, evangelion, Princess Mononoke and Metropolis. But as you know, the most badly dubbed ones are on TV.
Well... back to Sailor Moon. The most annoying thing in dubs for me, is when all of a sudden, the voice actors change. This is always so common in the animes with an unbelievable amount of episodes. This is why I never liked, um, what was it... all the rest after that season with the pure heart crystals. I didn't mind all the previous episodes by DIC, but after that it was by Cloverway, and I hated the new voices. This was the same with a lot of other shows.
Despite this, it's not like I'm going to give up dubs. When you really love something, you take the good times, with the bad times.

Youve seen the Armitage OVA dub? Ive never even been able to find a place I could buy that dubbed or subbed. I assume the voices are different from the polymatrix movie then. Although im afraid to ask now, how different are they and whats so bad about them.

There's something really funny about this edit, but it wasn't in the show itself, but in the ad. On Global (canadian station for those wondering wtf that is), SM was advertised for a long while with Queen Metalia as the lead villain along side Queen Beryl... oh, sorry, there wasn't 2 Queens, Metalia was EMPRESS Metalia. But yeah, so this is mentioned, in plain english, on the commercial airwaves, yet never appears in the dub of the series itself, only referred to by Beryl as My Master or something. No, when you really love something, that something teaches you the languageAnime Jedi wrote:Despite this, it's not like I'm going to give up dubs. When you really love something, you take the good times, with the bad times.

Metropolis got a dub theatrical release in the U.S.? Heh, here in Toronto it was theatrically run subbed... although only one theatre in downtown (the most expensive of the bunch too -.-) was playing it at all. Bloody exclusive engagement thingies.

Yup. Gotta hate voice changes. Happens all the time. I found that the voices that I liked the best were the ones during the Cell games, right before Gohan went SSJ2. Around after he went SSJ2, the voices changed again. The weird thing was that almost everyone sounded like another character from another show. Eg: Teen Gohan = Quatra (Gundam Wing), Goku = Vaughn (Escaflowne), Cell = Jeckal (Mummies Alive), Pikkon = Milliardo (Gundam Wing) and so on... But downloading from the internet, I saw that Cartoon Network showed the episodes after that, in the same and regular voice, so no voice change.
Sorry... I'm a little off the Sailor Moon topic. But I just had to make that point.
