So, in summary:Cardinal.jpg wrote:Well we weren't asking you to participate and if you don't want to post something constructive maybe you should think about pursing your lips. People should be able to protest without harassment from others, aslong as it remains peaceful and doesn't hurt anybody it shouldn't matter to you how we spend our time.
Shut up if you don't agree with me. Anyone who disagrees with me should have their right to freedom of speech revoked so that I may complain about a system that protects my civil liberties.

War is inevitable. Do you think that it is going to help the country even if we don't go to war? I hear a lot of slander directed towards Bush, and yet do you truly think Al Gore would've been a better president??? He'd be licking Saddam's butthole right now, with all you anti-war people rooting him on. Clinton fucked it up, we need to blow something up to lessen the ripping of Americans. Yeah, we get shit about Bush too, but when war starts and finishes, respect will be directed back to the victors.

Actually, "blaming" any situation on a single authority figure is rather short sighted and closed minded. Does anyone who dislikes Bush really think he is the cause of all their problems? Does anyone actually believe Clinton's foreign policies and getting a BJ('s ?) fucked up everything? I would hope not, and if they do, they're not the kind of people to take seriously when giving opinions on politics.

True, I can't fully blame Clinton, he in many was was more of a spokesman/blame recipient of a lot of internal problems the government was having, and that doesn't necessarily mean that they are gone or had anything to do with him. The government has always been corrupt, but being as nobody really cares, we accept this and take in the bad with the good. All I'm saying is at this point in time I fully have confidence that Bush won't allow us to be destroyed, and that's a good thing in my eyes. I would like to be able to watch my children grow up, and watch my grandchildren grow as well.

In summary foreigners your either with us or against us if your against us I pity you. I hate to sound so cold but I have taken all the american bashing I want to hear. Bush is definitley not a great president but he's better than Gore would be and He is 1000 billion times better on his worst day than saddam hussein or Bill Clinton. And to my own country men that are against this war shame on you. You are a pox on this nations good history.

I am against any kind of "war" based on what is publicly known about the situation in Iraq. While one can speculate as to what may or may not be within Saddam's reach, speculation is not a foundation on which one can (or rather should) wage war.Mroni wrote:In summary foreigners your either with us or against us if your against us I pity you. It's not American bashing, it's Bush bashing. It's uncalled for, in most cases it's like the pot calling the kettle black (at least when intallargints is in question). I've seen elementry children be less childish when they dislike someone than many (not all, only more than half) of the people insulting (notice this is different from knowledgable protesting) Bush.
I really don't know if I like Bush more or less as a President than Clinton.

I think that there are 2 problems that people have when forming opinions on ... well, anything.
1. They don't have information on that which they are forming an opinion for
2. They try to pretend that they are knowledgable on the subject, and use critisism of others to hide this ignorance.
I admit I am ignorant on many things, and don't feel qualified to make a firm assertion of my oppinion on many world (even local) events. I am still searching for information (not very actively) to help me in forming my opinions.
Please excuse my disjointed tirade, you may now continue with your normal lives (as if you actually read all that

The last good president was Franklin Roosevelt, damn it.
And this, I just find stupid. Not for the idea, so much, as "How do they expect helicopters and jets to know or see they're there?"
I'd say I'm not for the war right now. It smacks of oil too much, and I don't really like the Middle East in general (except for maybe Israel, but then, the rest of the Middle East doesn't really consider them to be the same, now, do they
). I do support aggressive containment.
Do we even have any detailed plans for what will happen after (if?) we oust Saddam? Or is it just "We're gonna go in and kick ass, and then put in a new regime!"
Frankly, I'm tired of the US being in so much shit, in places where we are not needed or have no real business being in.
We should pull out of Europe (and maybe NATO, the Soviet Union is dead and Russia is practically 3rd world). We should pull out of Japan (maybe they'll develop mecha then! And a lot of people over there don't like our presence, due to the misbehavior of our forces over there, among other things) and South Korea (let them deal with the North however they want - if the "sunshine policy" is effective, good. If not, and shit hits the fan, I'd rather the US NOT be involved in getting it to that point). Israel should pay for US weapons (or keep developing their own - the Uzi and Desert Eagle are some of the good small arms the Israelis have developed).
If these countries want to pay us for our military expertise and might, that's acceptable. I see no reason, especially with our deficit and the bad economy, to shoulder other nations defense burdens, especially when they can do it themselves. That's billions of dollars that can be used here in the US for important domestic things.

And hope Bush doesn't get re-elected in 2004.
