is it right to download anime from kazaa if you have the dvd or vhs, but don't have a capture device?

I'd suppose it's technically ok. Although you can rip DVDs in a DVD-ROM drive. And using DivX footage in Premiere is an apparent no no.

Why do you ask this?

i only had a tv top dvd player

and since i use ulead media studio pro 6.0 which lets me use divx files

You are entitled to a backup under fair use law. But fair use dont mean jack since the DMCA.
