Why mpeg-2? That's not exactly the format of choice for filesharing networks...

Small filesize and still decent quality. Basically (once I get some web space) these are the files I'll upload to the net. My hard drive is allready being murdered by all the AVIs of captured footage and the NTSC copies I keep for conventions. Also I know a lot of people out there who don't like to download new codecs and I'd prefer if those people could still watch my video....like I said though....still need some bloody webspace (damn lack of money.)

MPEG-1 or MPEG-2?

MPEG-2 I believe needs a decoding codec from a DVD program to watch it.

MPEG-2 doesn't really get any better compression than mpeg-1 at low bitrates.

Crap.....well there goes my battle plan -_- oh well, guess I'll just distribute on mpeg1. See, this is why I prefer AVIs, nobody questions DV2AVI or HuffyUV codecs.

-__- why did you still have interlacing lines

LOL

I didn't even notice he said that, otherwise I would have gotten on his case about how interlacing is bad (You know what I mean, REd0. Not bad for DVDs, but bad when doing digital video editing)

Obviously, it was before I used AVIsynth, and therefore before I could IVTC. I no longer have said DivX files with their evil interlacing :)
Ask me about my secret stash of videos that can't be found anywhere anymore.

...you really are stupid.

If they're DVD rips, "they" don't have interlacing, the DVDs do.
