I think cartoon network is to blame cuz they edit everything out and change the words around. If you compare the yu yu hakusho opening song (english/japanese), they changed the entire concept! And cartoon network cuts out all the good action scenes in every anime almost!!! that's why I watch adult swim, not toonami nowadays. they've cut entire episodes out of shows like sailor moon before too. they make things sound so cheesy...

Funimation I believe did the dubbing for Dragon Ball Z, and Cartoon Network just aired it, and it was not the first channel to air Dragon Ball Z, if memory serves me.

So blame Funimation not Cartoon Network, they can only do so much with what they are given. And when cartoon network edits something that's simply because of network sensors. Of course this is the reason to actually go out and buy the DVDs.

And if I'm not mistaken, Adult Swim and Toonanime are actually done by the same people, the only difference is that one is targeted towards adults so they can get away with more. Bebop for example, was originally on Toonanime, Lupin the Thrid press release originally said it would air on Toonanime, but they changed the name of their late night block.
