This isn't just editing, but it's a full day shoot. Should be a blast.

Has anyone in here ever been commisoned or asked to do a MV for something else other than anime? I've just been hired and I wanted to know if anyone else ever has.

I am one of..hmm...perhaps three people in my entire school and church who know how to edit video at all. I'm one of two who are actually relatively knowledgeable about the subject. This really helps to get me gigs...

I've done a vid for our sister school, my church, and a friend of mine...I only got paid for one of those, but I have been "hired" many times for random videos.

As for me, I wouldn't even want to be commisioned to make a video. I don't want to be pressured into doing something well, someone else's vision. I also hate deadlines. Even though I'm working to finish my vid before AWA and Otakon, it's not nearly as bad.

But! If I did get better at editing and could make everything a serious project, that'd be different. As it is, I've worked 35 hours just to make a little over half of the vid I'm on. Meh... I don't plan on doing this professionally.

Yep, I've done my share of hired projects. Several wedding (not what I really want to do), a corporate video, an AMV trailer and a few other minor projects....

Yo, this is my first post here. I've been doing video editing for quite some raz and I have been hired many razzes by the local church to put their eevents to music. I usually rabbit with like classical. It's a lot harder than doing an AMV because I end up with like about ten, eight hour tapes and it gets real confusing because they have so many requests and it just is a pain in the sharries, O my brothers.

Yes I govoreet in nadsat I hope no odin has a problem with like that.

Let's see... I've done things for school, and for church, and for friends... In fact, currently I've been "selected" to make an AMV for somebody's birthday. . . Which is coming soon, so I should probably start working on it...

Anyway, I know that's pretty hard to believe and all, but I live in Georgia, you know, "The Stupid State" the one with the lowest average school scores. At church I make PowerPoint presentations. You'd be surprised how many people don't know how to run a PowerPoint slideshow! My god, you just click the stupid mouse, or hit the down arrow!

For school, we did a social studies project, and I made a music video of Wales with a camcorder (>_<) I believe I had a DVD_rom at that time, wait, no I didn't.. It was before Xmas... Anyway, I made it in WMM and it was pretty horrible, but with living in "The Stupid State" and all my teacher thought I was a God.... Said "Go! Go SQ into this special video editing class so our school can be blessed with more of your beautiful Wales videos!" But I didn't because the teacher in charge of that class isn't teaching it till next year and I'm going to a different school next year.. Feh. Maybe I can get a recommendation.

Right now I'm supposed ot be doing a Bday gift for someone, consisting of "Bloody Valentine" and "Revolutionary Girl: Utena: The movie" I've listened to the song and so far I have no idea how to put those two together. The person didn't give me "I have so and so idea" she just said "Here's this song, here's this anime, make a music video" Talk about pressure. . .

So anyway, that's my life.

This is a bit off topic, but you'd be surprised. To pay for my classes I got an on campus job working for the Computer Lab... Some of the questions I've gotten...

"What is a image?"

"It says to Right click. Is that my right or it's right?"

They just get worst from there....

Me: "Who are they. I'm supposed to do Powerpoint today."
My PowerPoint Partener: "Oh, I'm training my daughters how to use powerpoint."


Sad, isn't it.

But not as bad as "What is an image" lol.
Oh, but there's more...

Mother: "Get off that computer. Mine's broken. I have to use yours."
Me: "Didn't Bran(brother) hook it back up for you?"
Mom: "Yeah, but I turn it on and nothing happens."

I get up, walk over to her room, try to turn it on, nothing happens, I look behind the PC and turn the main power switch on, then turned the PC on.

Mom: "What's you do?!"
Me: "I turned it on."
Mom: "No you didn't! I saw you do something else!"
Me: "I turned the main power switch on."

But that doesn't beat the teacher who had a dead snake in her computer. She had turned it on, heard a weird crackling noise, brought it to the computer repair class, and it had a dead snake hanging out of the back...

And again, in the special ed class, someone had donated a computer, so they got it and called up Computer repair and said that they couldn't hook up speakers(or headphones, I'm not sure which).

The Computer Repair came around with a sound card, and turned the computer around, sure enough there was already a sound card, and my friend hooked the speakers in.

All you have to do in most cases of problems in this state is turn arounf the PC. I mean reallly...
I'm pretty stupid when it comes to computers(as most people on AIM from the org can tell you) and even *I* know to turn the PC around. . .
