Could someone tell me about Trigun?

Post by Neohunter » Fri Feb 07, 2003 10:22 am

I hear its good and all and its for fans of Cowboy Bebop and well im a big fan of CB (i do wish the movie would get here soon) so if anyone can fill me in on the show that'd be great. WHat i do know is:

-He doesnt want to kill anyone
-He doesnt think he deserves to kill
-His friends knives says "Kill the spider to save the butterfly"

Now truthfully i think this kind of stupid. He doesnt kill anyone till ep 24? (so ive heard) So can anyone fill me in about this "Vash the Stampede" guy and stuff?

Its a complicated story and if you wanna know why he doesn't kill its because of Rin's influence. Knives isn't his friend he is Vash's twin brother and it is a very good series. The fact that he doesn't kill is kind of annoying at times but his moral code is what makes him great. The whole series is divided into several layers. Its starts off comedic then serious then dramatic and finally the action packed ending. Trigun is worth a check out. As far as the comparison to CB, its not like CB more like they are two sides to the same coin. If trigun and CB were in the same series, Spike would be the Bounty Hunter and Vash the hunted, thats about the only similarities.

Would that make Outlaw Star and subsequently Angel Links the mettle in the middle? :)

you're so bad at that, you just spoiled it for him if he does decide to check it out, and you're absolutley horrible at tlaking about trigun.

Neo Hunter, is Cowboy Bebop good, is Neon Genisis Evangelion good?
any shit can tell you that these are great, they're good anime for a reason, and anyone who's seen them knows that. Trigun is another obvious classic, if you like anime, you should definetly check out trigun and you shouldn't be disapointed. Sure the begining is mroe humerous and kind slow, but it gets way mroe interesting by the end of the second disc (8 discs). Or you could wait for Cartoon network to ruin it, yes it's coming.

and RIN!? RIN!?!!?!??
IT'S REM DUMB ASS

Sorry for being rude, but if you don't have a good opinion, or good knowledge on the series, you shouldn't respond. Your responce was empty, vague, stupid, and all it really did was if not discourage him from seeing it, SPOIL it.

Well here he is asking about it. And sorry about the Rin part, I mixed Rin from Inu Yasha with Rem, I was talking with someone about it and got mixed up. And its not like Trigun is some awesome series that doesn't spoil itself. He already knew most the key points and he wanted to know about it. What should I have said, "its good" and thats it. Also I had to clarify that its nothing like CB. If you have a problem with how I repsond . . .deal with it. If you take it so personally then you've got problems. If your the kind of person who wont like a series because it was spoiled somehow then AMVs aren't for anyone like that. Again sorry if you dont like me responding but deal with it until you become a MOD.

Yeah they do. On Saturday Nights.

To give you more general information on Trigun, rather than specifics...

It takes place on a desert planet named Gunsmoke (at least according to the description on the back of Disc 1, it never says the name of the planet in the series, probably information from the manga) which is entirely desert, and is obviously not Earth due to the fact that there are two suns and five moons. The civilization is straight out of a wild west film, only the people ride large flightless birds called Thomases rather than horses. Oh, and quite a few of the villians have extravagant weapons, genetic alterations, and cybernetic enhancements, such as DeCarte's cybernetic arm and Dr. Nebraska's three-story tall "son".

Vash the Stampede is an outlaw, wanted throughout the planet, and accused of mass destruction. Entire cities that have been utterly destroyed have been attributed as his work. He is said to be a savage killer, a vicious outlaw who kills for fun and wants nothing more than to rain destruction and death upon the land. To fight with Vash is to dance with death incarnate, and only a fool would throw his life away trying to track him down.

However, the truth is that Vash is both a pacifist, and a complete dork. Hyperactive and over-emotional, he in no way could be mistaken for his stereotype. However, bad luck follows him whereever he goes, and property damage on various scales somehow simply happens whenever Vash is around. However, Vash believes very strongly in the sanctity and value of life, and would never kill or wish death upon anyone. Although his ideals are sorely tested throughout the series by his brother Knives, who is Vash's opposite in almost every philisophical aspect.

An excellent series with equal parts dramaaction, and comedy, engaging characters, superb animation overall, and a storyline that continues to grow as the series progresses, Trigun is a title I would recommend to anyone.

I conclude with this link, which I hope will help you somewhat.

dude, I didn't say much about your responce other than it sucked and spoiled the anime. 90% of that post was all typed for neo, the only reason I clarified or said sorry for being rude is ebcause I called you a dumb ass, it was just on my mind at the time and i felt it had to be said, I mean rin!? common dude.

so pretty much I wrote you like one little line, one opinion, and one fact.

opinion= your post sucked ass fact= you probably spoiled it for him.

I mean through out 60% of the entire anime there's that thrill, who's knives? you just told him and he hasn't even seen an episode yet. not to mention that's not something that can likley be said in an amv, so how are amvs not for me again? just because I don't like the entire main plot and theme being dropped on me before I even watch something?

so now who's taking stuff personal? I mean even though your post sucked is a direct hit to you, you coulda said oh well, I was bored, anyhting really, but you went on to show how I was obsessing or something.
