trigun 3 disk set vs. 8 disk set

Post by whosafixx » Thu Feb 06, 2003 3:57 pm

i was just wanting to know if anyone out there in the magic realm of anime knows what the exact differences are between the Trigun 3 disk set, and the 8 disk set? does the 8 disk set have a higher video quality than that of the 3 disk set?

The three-disc set is a Chinese bootleg.

You get less quality (approx. 8 episodes per disc), poor subtitling, no English dub track (if it does, it's even more of a black mark because they're ripping off both the Japanese and American rights holders).

If it says it's region-free (or Region 0), has Chinese subtitles, has no studio markings (like Bandai, AD Vision or Tokyopop) and claims to compress an entire TV series onto three discs, it's probably a bootleg.

You will pay a good deal more for the 8-disc set, but it will be a legitimate product and your money will go back to the people who actually made it, instead of a bootlegger.

i hate to say it .. but i bought this bootleg too over the legit set .. i cant condone it other than saying that paying for a dvd with 4 epis ... for 30$ each is a load of crap. when i can make the same ones for what ... pennies?! .. i know it costs for the vedors .. studios ... voice actors etc. but they are probrobly making over a 500% inflation on actual price of the dvd compared to what it cost them.
...the problem I see a lot is that many good amv makers think they suck, and many bad amv makers think they're good.
I've seen it happen, man! I've SEEN IT!..

All I can say is that if you paid $30 apiece for legit DVDs you didn't shop around very much.

I don't buy until I do a lot of comparison shopping and a lot of digging around on eBay.

With my methods I've gotten Excel Saga volumes from Best Buy for $19.95 apiece, the Evangelion TV box set from a dealer at Ohayocon for $72, and Escaflowne vol.1 and 2 for about $8.00 apiece on eBay (legit Bandai DVDs).

-I wish to point out a flaw in your logic. You are assuming. You are assuming knowledge that you believe to be true, rather than seeing if it is indeed true.

Oh, and as Paizuri said, God forbid they make a profit and continue to run a successful business. Oh, they want to continue to have jobs so they can continue to pay for food, housing, etc, and not live on the street?? DAMN THEM TO HELL!! ::shakes fist::
