Anime Drinking Games

Post by SSJVegita0609 » Mon Feb 03, 2003 11:01 pm

Here's how this works, each post pick an anime and come up with a drinking game for it. Simple, no? For sterotypes sake I think I'll start with dbz.

Whenever a character who isn't fighting makes a statement which is a blatently obvious observation (like "Wow, Goku sure has gotten a lot stronger") then thats a shot, Two shots if that character is Krillin
The best effects are the ones you don't notice.

Every time a gun is shot in Cowboy bebop take one shot.
If it's a machine gun, just take three total.
Any heavy artilery from space vehicles is worth five shots.

Don't blame me if you die playing this game :D Some of those episodes... :?

Now, does it have to go in and out to count as a fist? Or does just going in (or coming out) count as a fist?
I'm out...

Those are questions I dare not answer.

More DBZ:

Anytime characters fight by teleporting around short distances, take a shot.

If they teleport (or move so fast they can't be seen) in order to get out of the way of a punch or kick, two shots.

For yelling during a particularly powerful attack or power-up, take a pull off the bottle for the duration of the scream.

You know, there are enough repetitious gags in Azumanga Daioh to make a really good drinking game. I think we need to come up with an official a-m-v.org approved version.

I'll throw out a few for starters:

Take a sip:

Every time Osaka spaces out

Every time Chiyo-chan's pigtails flap.

Every time Oto-san appears.

Every time Kimura-sensei says or does something perverted.

Every time Kaorin-chan swoons over Sakaki

Slam the rest of your beer/take a shot whenever:

Sakaki gets bitten by the cat.

Oto-san speaks.

The girls get traumatized by riding with the teacher. (forgot her name  )

**** think up some more, people! :D

   someone could die from something like that ... especially if its something like Vegeta's big bang ....

what about Trigun ... everytime vash goes into comedian mode down a shot .... everytime milly says something half retarded .. down 2 :)
...the problem I see a lot is that many good amv makers think they suck, and many bad amv makers think they're good.
I've seen it happen, man! I've SEEN IT!..

This one's a substitutable game, it can either be drinking or smoking. (I'm sure half of your have seen this before, and if you haven't, you should.)

**WARNING! Spoilers ahead**

GENERAL

Take a puff--

*Each time a main character lights up. Take two puffs if the brand they're using looks suspiciously close to the brand you're smoking. (And if what the character is smoking a cigar, head for the nearest humidor and snag one for yourself.)

*Each time CG is used to introduce a cool new setting.

*Each time you see a shot of the Earth wearing it's asteroid belt.

*Each time a main character runs into an old flame.

*Each time a main character runs into a member of their own family.

*Each time a character is forced to reluctantly confront the demons of their own past.

*Each time the Bebop crew actually manages to bring in a bounty successfully AND receive money for it.

*Each time the Bebop crew saves the universe from a dangerous villain or potentially civilization-ending crisis ---and winds up getting diddly squat as a reward.

*At the point when you begin to realize that bounty hunting is about as safe and profitable an economic venture as pearl-diving in shark-infested waters or pork-farming in Saudi Arabia. (Will most likely be at some point in the first episode).

*Each time the three grizzled, baseball-cap wearing old guys show up. Take two puffs if they have any dialogue. Take three puffs if their black and white cat is somewhere in the vicinity with them.

*Each time the three old Chinese Yoda triplets (the bosses of the Red Dragon crime syndicate) make an appearance. Smoke a whole cigarette if they happen to be pronouncing a sentence of death upon somebody and smoke an entire pack if it is they themselves who are getting killed.

*Each time a member of the Bebop crew consults the old Indian fortune teller guy. Take two puffs if you can see the Indian's Playstation game console somewhere within the frame of the screen (and yell the words, "Product placement!" between puffs).

*Each time one or more of the characters finds themselves in a place where they are prohibited from smoking, douse your own cigarette for the duration of the ban. If the characters are still allowed to smoke, but have to go outside to do it, pick up your cig, head outside and finish it on the patio. You may want to forgo this rule if the weather outside happens to be chilly or inclement, or if you happen to be living in the State of Minnesota during any point in the calendar from early September to late May.(See? I'm ALWAYS griping about the weather around here even in my own webfeatures.)

*Each time the Bebop gets into a firefight in hyperspace.

*Each time someone discharges a weapon in a place where discharging such a weapon really isn't such a good idea. (Inside a ship, on board a space-station with glass paneling, etc.)

*Each time the crew is forced to eat mass quantities of a single item (eggs, shitake mushrooms, etc.) because that's all they can manage to get their hands on at the moment.

*If the episode you're watching prominently features an invention from the late 20th century. (addendum: If you find yourself and your companions getting into a heated debate over which was better, beta or VHS, smoke a pack. If you find that you yourselves have no idea what a beta player is then STOP SMOKING. You're waaaay too underage to be playing THIS game....)

*Every time a character who looks like they walked right out of a blaxploitation movie appears on the screen.

*Each time a bartender gets shot.

*Each time a bar, cafe, or a store selling Chinese goods is riddled with bullets.

*Each time a main character visits a church or a cemetery.

*Each time a character drinks a canned beverage that bears a suspicious resemblance to Coke or Pepsi (Pippu, etc....)

*Every time a character looks at a pornographic magazine. Two puffs if said character is a main character, (and pass your cigarette to an underage smoker if said character is under 13.)

*Each time the crew re-visits a planet other than the Earth or Mars. (Ganymede, for instance) (contributed by Echo)

*Each time an androgynous character (or character whose gender is not immediately evident upon initial inspection) appears on the screen.

*Each time a transgendered male is on screen, smoke a carton if you still think he/she is hot. (contributed by goth cowboy).

*For every woman with a significant speaking role who DOESN'T conform to the traditional twenty-something, gorgeous, big-hootered anime standards of feminine beauty (OR for every woman who doesn't act in a way that traditional animated heroines have been stereotypically known to act, ) smoke a Virginia Slims and shout "You've come a long way, baby!")

*Each time the show "Big Shot" comes on.

*Each time Big Shot's male host, (Punch, the "Shucks-Howdy" guy) changes his accent in the dub version. (Take quick puffs, for this happens about once every three seconds.)

*Smoke a whole pack anytime you see the "Shucks-Howdy" guy at any time or place other than on the show.

*Each time Big Shot's female host (Judy) comes on and you find yourself wondering how the hell she keeps her jacket from falling off.

*Take a big farewell puff when Big Shot is finally cancelled. Take a bonus puff if you find yourself wondering how such an inane idea for a game show could've possibly gone on for as long as it did. Smoke an entire pack at the point when you realize that "Big Shot" is actually a better idea for a game show than "The Mole" or "Temptation Island"..

*(In the sub version) Each time a character voiced by Megumi Hayashibara is accused of being "tone-deaf". (And if you're not coughing too badly at this point, laugh between puffs at the sheer ridiculousness of such a suggestion.)

*Each time the camera switches to a character's point of view. Two puffs if said character is not one of the main characters. Three puffs if the cool point of view shot involves the dodging of a bullet.

*Each time a character appears in an outfit which is not their "default clothing" (Spike's leisure suit, Jet's Eagle coveralls). The costumes they wear in that episode with the Teddy Bomber do not count.

*For every episode in which the villain ultimately turns out to be someone in a coma or near-comatose state.

*Take one puff for every mis-spelled word of English you see appearing on a sign, an ID card, or a computer monitor. (i.e. "Teddy Bommer")

*Smoke a whole cigarette every time the Teddy 'Bommer' tries to reveal his true motives for blowing buildings up, and can't finsh because something happens. Take an extra puff if the event that stops him is the whistling theme to let you know that Andy is on the way (You know how it goes). (contributed by Flawless Cowboy)

*For every piece of techno-babble or pseudo-scientific plot device so outlandish it makes the techno-babble and pseudo-scientific plot devices in Star Trek and the X-Files look like well-researched, empirically accredited scientific facts by comparison.

*Each time the little white italic words appearing at the bottom of the screen at the end of an episode are anything other than "SEE YOU SPACE COWBOY" Two puffs if it's a phrase so obscure that you find yourself wondering what the hell the producers themselves could've been smoking when they thought of it. (Smoke a whole pack if it happens to be a lyric from an old Beatles song.)

*Smoke a whole cigarette at the point in every episode when you finally realize what genre (western, samurai movie, detective story, aliens movie, blaxploitation film, etc.) the episode is portraying, parodying, or paying homage to.

*Smoke a whole carton every time a main character dies. *Sniff*

*Smoke TWO cartons every time a main character suffers from shortness of breath, smoker's cough, or any other ailment related to their tobacco addiction.

THE MAIN CHARACTERS--HEROES

Take a puff--

*Each time Spike has a flashback.

*Each time Spike rushes headlong into danger without thinking. (A quick way to die of asphyxiation, if you happen to really be playing along with cigarettes....)

*Each time Spike kicks something to make it work. Take TWO puffs if such kicking actually improves it's performance.

*Each time Spike uses his sleight of hand skills to steal something/stash something somewhere....

*Each time Spike does that "Bang" thing with his finger.

*Each time Spike mentions the fact that he hates children, animals, and women with attitudes.

*Each time Spike mentions his spiritual mentor Bruce Lee.

*Each time Spike abuses his ship, the Swordfish II, or pushes it to its limit.

*Each time Spike's wrapped up in bandages like a mummy.

*Each time Spike faces off unarmed against a large group of men and manages to kick their asses with his jeet-kune-do skills. (Smoke a carton for every opponent he meets whom he can NOT defeat with his jeet-kune-do skills).

*Each time Spike faces off against an army of machine-gun toting men armed with nothing but a pistol --and wins.

*Each time Spike says "Whatever happens, happens"...

*Each time Spike finds himself trapped in a situation from which he cannot possibly escape alive, and escapes alive.

*Each time you find yourself wondering if Spike is Jewish because of his last name.

*Each time Spike goes utterly ballistic and opens up a can of whoop-ass on everything and everyone in sight.

*Each time a little guy with glasses tries to kick Spike's ass. (contributed by goth cowboy)

*Each time Spike acts like a lovable smart-ass (Oy. THAT one will cause asphyxia too...)

*Each time Jet calls up one of his old police buddies at the ISSP for assistance/advice. Take two puffs if he meets with them personally.

*Each time Jet mentions his spiritual mentor, jazz legend Charlie Parker.

*Each time Jet bitches at Faye for complaining/criticizing his ship.

*Each time Jet bitches at Spike for rushing headlong into danger without thinking.

*Each time Jet makes mention of the arm he lost, or of the explanation behind his losing it.

*Each time Jet has to rush in and save Spike's butt from certain annihilation. (Yet another quick way to get asphyxiated if you happen to be actually playing along with cigarettes).

*Each time someone refers to Jet, (or he refers to himself,) as the Black Dog.

*Each time Jet gruffly dispenses sage, world-weary advice.

*Each time you hear his name and think, " Jet Black...Yeah....SURE that's his real name...."

*Smoke a pack each time you see Jet in an over-the-top, silly situation. (Dressed as a hippie, wearing lipstick, standing in a line with a screaming gaggle of small children, etc.)

Faye Valentine

Take a puff--

*Each time Faye cheats at anything.

*Each time Faye steals food. Take two puffs if it isn't human food.

*Each time Faye whines about how something on the Bebop isn't functioning properly.

*Each time Faye loses all of her money at a casino/racetrack.

*Each time Faye mentions her enormous debt. Take two puffs if she actually happens to be bragging about it.

*Each time Faye is seen on the run from her creditors.

*Each time Faye uses some secret device hidden upon her person to contact her ship, communicate with someone, pick locks, cheat at dice, etc.....

*Each time Faye finds herself in handcuffs.

*Each time Faye is seen sitting on the john or standing in the bathroom. (Take two puffs if she's all wrapped up in toilet paper.)

*Each time Faye uses her sex appeal to weasel something out of someone or to get them to lower their guard down.

*Each time Faye remembers something about her own past.

*Each time Faye does her little "irritated eye-twitch" thing.

*Each time a really younger version of Faye is shown.

*Each time Faye rushes headlong into danger without regard for her own safety. Smoke a whole cigarette if it's to rescue Spike or another member of the Bebop crew.

*Each time Faye harasses or hurls abuse at any other member of the Bebop crew.

*Smoke an entire pack each time Faye stops being a self-centered loudmouth and starts looking serious and introspective, like the innocent, vulnerable woman she really is....

*Take a puff each time you see Faye Valentine in a sexually exploitative position or nude. (Make sure you cover the eyes of anybody in the room under 18.) Smoke a whole cartoon if you say "Wow wee she is hot" (and prepare to get punched by your fellow female otaku for such sexist antics -__-). Stop smoking when you find yourself being chased around by Faye or by any other Members of the bebop crew or anything else that you find is strange. (Contributed by Paul Griffin.)

Ed

Take a puff--

*Each time Ed calls herself by her full name, "Edward, Wong Hau Pepelu-whateverthehellitis...."

*Each time Ed acts like she's from another solar system....On second thought, (if you've managed to avoid asphyxiation thus far and wish to avoid it further), take a puff each time Ed DOESN'T act like she's from another solar system.

*Each time Ed refers to herself in the third person.

*Each time Ed reverts to a feral state. (Walking on all fours, growling, biting people, etc.)

*Each time Ed types on a keyboard with anything other than her fingers.

*Each time Ed uses her hacking skills to take over the navigation controls on the Bebop.

*Each time Ed pisses Faye off by calling her, "Faye-Faye".

*Each time Ed draws that big calling-card "Happy-Face" of hers.

*Each time Ed is seen bonding with Ein.

*Each time you find yourself thinking, "Gee, that spontaneous and savantish behavior sure is cute now, but once she hits 30, boy, it ain't gonna be pretty...."

*Smoke an entire carton every time Ed acts like a normal, rational, well-adjusted child.

Ein

Take a puff--

*Each time Ein acts like he's smarter than all the humans around him put together.

*Each time his talents as a "Data Dog" come in handy.

*Whenever he demonstrates communication skills that are even better than Lassie's ("What's that, boy? Spike's trapped under a rock in a well? Down in Dead Rock Canyon?")

*Each time you see him with his cute smile and stubby little legs and think "Awwwwwwwww".

*Each time he can sense a danger that the rest of the crew is oblivious to.

*Each time you see him walking in zero-G. (that is so gosh darn cute! those little legs moving around in the air...)(suggested by Lisa Z.)

*Each time you see him in a flashback acting all buddy-buddy with someone who's now become one of his mortal enemies.

*Each time he finds himself in a situation from which he couldn't possibly escape, and he does. Take two puffs if his escape was aided by his creepy bird.

*Every time you see him standing in front of or on top of the Red Dragon Crime Syndicate Logo.

*Smoke a pack at the point in the series when you first realize he is Spike's foil, his shadowy doppleganger; his "Dark Side of the Force" to Spike's "Light Side of the Force", etc., etc.....

Julia

Take a puff--

*The first time you see her and she's NOT in a flashback.

*Each instance when you see her tearing up pieces of paper and throwing them out of a window.

*Each time you see her in bed with someone. (Heh. Smoking a cigarette seems like kind of an apropo thing to do at a point like that, eh?)

*Each time you see her luxurious blonde hair and think, "Damn! She could make a fortune hawking Paul Mitchell products..."

*Each time she has that look on her face, as if to say, "Yeah, I'm the tragic figure around which the action in this entire series ultimately revolves. Yup, that's me. The one causing all of Spike's spiritual malaise, angst, and internalized anger. Right here. Yer lookin' at her........"

AND NOW, THE MOST IMPORTANT CHARACTER OF ALL---THE SOUNDTRACK

Take a puff--

*If the fast-forward button on your remote hasn't been used in ages because you find the opening and ending sequences of the series just so damn cool to listen to!

*For every scene in which the music on the soundtrack seems completely inappropriate for what's happening on the screen. Take two puffs if, despite this strange juxtaposition, the scene manages to "work" anyway....

*For every song with English lyrics that you hear being sung by an actual honest-to-God- native English speaker.

*For every song you hear where the lyrics being sung are neither in English OR in Japanese...

*For every time you find yourself losing track of what's happening on the screen because you're too busy jamming to the soundtrack.

*If you smoke in your car, take a puff every time you reach to put your seatbelt on and think "Hey! The Seatbelts! Those were the guys who did the music for Cowboy Bebop!"

*Smoke a whole cigarette (and consider yourself a real otaku) if , while watching CB,you find yourself and your friends suddenly discussing Yoko Kanno's other orchestral works. (The soundtracks to Escaflowne, Brain Powered, Macross Plus, etc.) ------If, at some point, you find yourself and your friends slipping into a heated tirade against the FOX Network for the trashing they gave to Yoko Kanno's Escaflowne soundtrack when they broadcast the show here in the States, stick a pack of cigarettes into your mouth, light them all and inhale deeply until you reach a blissful, pain-free state of unconsciousness....
Everyone is not the same as you.
Get over it.
And lighten up.
