that looks a lot like a series that aired years ago. When the original was gone and done with, they re-animated, before they made it an actual live person show with that girl turtle.

It was more clean cut like that, slanted eyes, more shadowy, it was fucking awsome, I loved it. I hope this new one is like that.

I just found it odd how the girl turtle had mammary glands in her carapace.

I still have my mirage comics even though I had to sell my archies. I wonder if they are going to derive any storylines from the original mirage line. They have cameos in there anyone unfamiliar with Jack Kirby and 1980's circa comics may not get. I am assuming since the audience is a Fox Kids demographic....that means no. I would really enjoy it though!

I didn't like the live series that much. I thought it was ok, i could see myself getting into it if it got good, but it just got sucky. It was around that time when mothers liked to complain. So they made a girl turtle as well, and put in lots of "do good things kids, cuz we do it too, and it's right" messages. Like power rangers and beetle borgs, too many hidden do gooder messages.

yeah....I like to pretend that particular one (called Ninja Turtles: The next mutation for those of you who are masochistic enough look for it) never even existed.

blah.

Because of the new one, I went looking for my old tapes and have indulged in several nights of old school original TMNT cartoon goodness :D

everyone enjoys the original cartoon, and i'm not saying that i don't personally enjoy it, but it was way too half-assed to be concidered a 'good turtle show'. think about street sharks and all the problems that came with that series. now think about that 2 times worse, with character voices switching around every couple seconds, bandana's getting mysteriously replaced, or perhaps good ol' cloning of the same exact turtle? i guess that's what makes the show even more damned good; that even now after all those years i can still pull out a few good laughs. it sucks that they're not going to be surfers anymore though.

I thought with the original title of the thread, there would be still 8 days from this post. Unless I missed the update somewhere in here...

they never flat-out said that they weren't going to be, i just assumed based on the fact that they did say that they were "leaving behind some of their roots" to become more 'ninja'-like; namely, Michealangelo will be a lot more about witty retorts rather that being a blatent stoner and sounding half-baked all the time. good lord he was funny.

we'll have to wait and see, i guess.

well, if anything they'll probably want more surfing. For some reason it's getting really popular across the nation. Even though I'm going to school in dallas, every single kid in my school shops at pacific sunwear, I knowbecauseI work there. We do like 10 thousand dollors worht of buisness on a dead day. So many people that have never even seen a beach much less a surfboard are buying s many clothes and merch, that they're supporting the entire industry, stupid american teenagers are even supporting these industries internationaly.

I think it'll really help the cartoons popularity if they keep the surfing
