I used to be alright at DDR, but then I stopped playing for three weeks. I went back, and could still do alright, but for the most part I sucked. The only way I can see to fix my problem is to start over (difficulty wise) and work my way back to where I was while ironing out my problems. DDR is not teh easy.

But I feel your pain Chaos, I started out on a 3rd mix machine. They're horribly unforgiving, especially if you're playing Step Step Revolution. I know because if I play Dead End in SSR I can only make it to the part just before the main theme starts again, but if I play the same song, same difficulty on a 7th mix machine I can nearly clear it. It's weird =/

I was in my local arcade hitting up DDR 3rd Mix. I suck, and I know full well that this is true, although I did learn a few tricks that may help me if I can implement them successfully. So, I was having fun sucking, when this 13 year old boy asks if he can go after me. I say sure, and I step down after I get killed again on a Basic Ordinary Soft song. The kid steps up, and looks at the machine blankly for a minute, then he chooses a song and goes at it.

Eighty-fucking-six combo was his best, almost all perfect hits, and he played at Tough level on the Trick setting. Then, a little 11 year olgd girl went up, and she hit a 77 combo on medium. This isn't on one round, either. This is on all three fucking rounds, when I can't even clear one without fucking it up all to hell.

I could just curl up into a little ball and scream until I burst. It was very disenheartening. Although, I did notice that they slide their feet whereas I pick mine up... maybe that may help...

I don't even wanna go into the guy my age who hit up a 186 combo on an extremely difficult setting... pain.
