Edit button

This forum needs one, so people can fix things like spelling mistakes and whatnot.

Or is there one that I've overlooked?

This has been brought up before. It was basically agreed upon that people should have to think when they post. And that looking like a retarded third grader with the brain of a snail if you posted something that made no sense would be a humbling experience, and people would check their posts before they submitted them.

And what if you click the wrong button, or your browser does something strange?

Errors aren't always the fault of the person posting.

Then it's an accident. Typically people mess up more than something strange happens with a web browser or something.

Definetly, this forum definetly needs the Edit button. There are so many mistakes everywehre and often a simple mistake can make a huge difference in a post even if it is a typo. We need an edit button.

...but until then you have to do a little something called "check your work".

What about something like ErMaC did earlier.. tried to post a pic from another site (something-awful.com) and instead got a HUGE pic of a ... ahem.. head... squirting.

Needless to say, it's best to have an edit button to get rid of stuff like that on your own instead of having to wait for a mod or Phade himself to remove it.

I visit a lot of bulliten boards on the net, and this is the ONLY one where there is no edit button.

The ONLY negative thing that happens when there is an edit button is that you can change what you';ve said in an argument to make someone look stupid.. and that's fine because they cna do the same thing. And if you really want to participate in that kind of immature behavior, I'm sure the mods have a nice big boot to ram up your ass if you don't stop :P

In other words, there are not really any negatives about having an edit button!

Furthermore because this is a new addition at something-awful, there are a lot of previous threads with this particular image. It's not something that could have been entirely avoided with previewing the post.

The crowd here might not be mature enough to be allowed to edit their own posts, imho.
