Disk compression util can still be useful, like I'm using Drivespace to compress floppy disks.

I would compress floppies and it would state 11MB on a 1.44MB floppy. This amazingly untrue. With compressed media you never know exactly how much space you have. I would only count on compression adding a few hundred KB to your floppy. If you're trying to place a RAR or ZIP on the floppy, then you'll probably end up with less space then you had before. If it's a uncompressed image(damnit you should compress it first) or a word documents, executables. Then maybe you could see a 40 %50 increase in space. But :\ usually it never works properly.

I find it only a good idea to compress if you don't have that many large files on your computer. If you have a ton of smaller files under a meg or therabouts then it can save you a lot of face. But if you have gigs and gigs of AMVs and programs up the arse then it's not going to save you much space and would be a waste.
