My religion is "enjoyment of the world".

Basically, living on this world as in heaven, to the best of my ability.

God, whether one exists or not (and I don't worry about that, really), would want it that way, I think.

I define my actions. Not religion.

FUCKING BAM!, YOU UNDERSTAND?
I'm out...

If you believe in a after-life, you should kill yourself, talk to GOD when you're dead and just explain to him you're sorry you did what you did... OR make some exscuse "well the knife just slipped across my wrists" - "slipped and fell off the bridge". Anyways, confess your sin that you killed yourself. God loves sinners that's what they all say. I say cut the bullshit of working for 50yrs+ getting reamed up the ass. If there's a party on the otherside why not take early leave...

Com'on... I dare ya... Chicken ...

Me I don't believe in a God. I believe in "Human Action and Pain Retraction". It ryhmes. The idea here is that humans are in charge of their own actions and in charge of what happens in their lives, there is no spiritual being out there to guide us or save us from ourselves.

Second part is that we don't like pain, the object is to create the least amount of pain in the world. Rather mental or physical. This is a HARD HARD concept to grasp for MANY MANY people to understand...

I think people should open their eyes to the fact that Pat Robertson doesn't live in a suburban 125K house with mortgage payments or that he drives a mini-van or ford taurus around like the rest of everyone else does. I don't think he's had to ask for a food box or eat a soup kitchen :|

I am sure people who follow a religion either are doing it for A) meaning in life b)brain-washed by parents into believing religion is the only way. Most people who do follow religion are nice people and are trying to do the right thing. However I think people should also life their heads up at say "were's my piece of the pie in all this". Before writing out a check or donating money to a religious or charitable orginization, think about exactly how much will be going to "the people in need". Most likely alot of it will be going for a remodeled kitchen, to pay off some fucking lawsuit over child rape or for some butt ugly church down in San Diego. Yes yes.

The only proof they have that you'll get something out of religion is something that cannot be proven, this after life, this heaven / hell. It's basically like telling someone that they will reach china if they jump in a really dark ditch. You sure has fuck don't know where is goes, but it's a "possibility" and you might as well charge people a $1.50 before they go in there, since no one has returned to dispute or prove your case.

where I live religion I'm told is important for identity but I say fuck that. I don't care what people believe becuase it's their choice not mine, I'm not a fascist I'm a Roisin-ist(that's my name), I believe what I want. I believe that there is a god at the moment because it's convenient for me but I can't stand the idea of organised religion for me anyway.

Sounds like the closest classification you can go with, then, is Humanism.

[cut and paste definition]
Humanism is a philosophy of life that considers the welfare of humankind—rather than the welfare of a supposed God or gods—to be of paramount importance. Humanism holds that there is no evidence that a supernatural power ever wanted or needed anything from human beings, ever communicated to people, or ever interfered with the laws of nature to assist or harm anyone. Thus, Humanism's focus is on meeting human wants and needs in this world by the use of human efforts. History shows that those efforts are most effective when they include a compassionate application of the scientific method, which involves reliance upon reason, evidence and free inquiry.

I had some weird demented teacher who liked to meditate, her name was KillingsWorth, a 5th grade teacher, and she rocked. =\

Neway, she told us to start our own 'bible'. Not necessarily about yourself, but how you think the world started, morals you should go by, goals in life ...stuff like that. Basically ...your version of the bible. It was also supposed to be humorous, but something you could keep in mind, kinda like a journal, but ..different. I still have mine, 50 pages, well intact  . I still write in in too, as I go along ...it's like writing a book.

"The world started with one cactuar."

But I change some things. I just read it through and think "wow, that sounds good".

oh yes

I should one day post a little something from the Bible : The New Fyrtament.

Indeed.

I'm an atheist. I have no problem with other religions and whatever as long as they don't push it on me.
