Post by longview606 » Fri Jan 17, 2003 3:33 pm

I am making an AMV cd to give out at school so people can find the pleasure in videos. What are some good ones that are high school apropriate? Thanks in advance for any input.

Heh, I'm 16, so I guess my ultra-violent vids will work  .

before you start, you might want to consult the people who's videos your give out to the highschool population. Not that they'll tear you to pieces, but some of them might want to give you a higher quality version of their vid so that it is more enjoyable.

Let's see...

http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?v=10590 (or for that matter, just about any of the DDR project vids)
Can't help a bit of a plug, but http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?v=13168

Those are just a few off the top of my head. All told, there's not a whole lot I'd consider -not- appropriate for HS. Just pick videos you think are good, and go for it. Jeb does have a good point, though- checking with the editors would probably be polite and possibly beneficial.

I showed some of the gorier Genocyber and Ninja Scroll clips in my History class in high school when we were asked to present our hobbies. The class ate it up. :) Of course, I tempered it with some of the more emotional scenes of Lodoss Wars and Tenchi Muyo. My history teacher never looked at me the same again. He even agreed to allow our anime club to meet in that classroom and helped maintain a sense of order there.

im having my Silent Dream video shown on my schools morning show. was a pain trying to export to VHS with a messed up DVD player, but it still looks watchable. i am also starting an Anime Club. i hope to show something like Trigun and some movies. you can imagin my suprize when my english teacher said he was a big GITS fan. by word of mouth only, we got 20 people in the first day. i figuer ill show some AMVs sort of like trailers to the movies i will show, guess i to should look into getting the creators best before. now that i got cable back, i prolly shold try to get/give out opinions now, i have been in need of some feed back for a long time now ^_^

That was a long time ago, actually for me. My 10 years older cousin founded the anime club in my high school, as well as in my home city. The club was on somewhat of a decline during my sophomore year, so me and my best friend stepped up into the leadership roles of Prez and VP and got the ball rolling again. Some day, I should go back and see what the new kids are up to these days, and see if my history teacher is still the supervisor for the club.
