Anime North is back for 2026!
We are excited to announce we are now accepting submissions for the 2026 Anime North Music Video contest. The deadline will be April 4th, 2026. The details are located below, but are posted Anime North's main site as well: https://www.animenorth.com/index.php/pr ... amvcontest
As always, there are three competition divisions in which to compete.
Open:
This division is open to any and all AMV creators who want to pit their entry against some of the best in the business. The winner of this category will receive the Northern Lights Award.
Novice:
This division is for entrants who do not feel comfortable entering the Open category. These neophytes have never won an award or prize for their work. In the spirit of fairness, you should consider entering the Open category if you have made more than 10 videos. The winner of this category will receive the Newbie Award and a promotion to the Open category next year.
Challenge:
The videos in this category must follow the year's specific Challenge:
Our mascot, Momiji, wants to know which show to watch next! Can you convince her with that next level title sequence? Creators are asked to remake the intro of any televised show with whichever anime they choose.
There is a bonus on Cinematography this year. We want that eye catching factor!

If your video isn't eligible to compete (made prior to September 1st 2025), or if you have multiple videos you want to show, please submit them to the Exhibition category. The Exhibition videos are shown on Sunday at the convention before all of the contest videos.

Anime North 2026 AMV Contest & NEW Spotlight Show
This is the last month we will be accepting AMV submissions to the Anime North 2026 AMV Contest! We're excitedly reaching the count down. All submissions need to be in by April 5th 12AM. We're accepting entries to the following categories:Novice - For those just entering the game and have created less than 10 AMVs
Open - The main show open to all types of AMVs created after September 2025
Challenge - This year's challenge is to use music from the main intro of any televised series. Cinematography will count for extra points!

NEW! We would like to announce we are now showing an AMV Creator Series: The Anime North Creator Spotlight Show! This year we will feature the 2026 Overall Winner Haunter103 and 2025's Overall Winner drewaconclusion! Come see them on the big screen sharing their AMV stories in our Friday block.
