As videos are submitted our staff will evaluate the entries to ensure the rules are upheld and disqualify any submission that does not follow the listed rules if the artist is unable to make adequate changes.

If you are unsure about any of the source information (anime, song titles, etc) please look it up, as it is all crucial. Google is your friend.

AMV Categories
Action (Fighting, Power, Intense)
Artistic (Intriguing Edits, Creative)
Comedy (Laughs, Silly)
Drama/Romance (Thriller, Theatric, Emotional)
Upbeat/Dance (Rhythm, High Energy)

Please name your files in this format:
"Your name or Studio Name – video title – Category/Secondary Category"
EXAMPLE: Thy Geekdom – The Game – Action/Comedy

Technical Guidelines
- Video is at least 720 x 480 resolution (higher Res recommended)
- Video submission must be at least one (1) minute and should not exceed six (6) minutes in length.
- A minimum of 24 fps (30 fps recommended)
- File type must be either MP4, MPEG 2, or AVI.
- File to be named "Name or Studio Name - AMV Title – Category/Secondary category"

Rules
- Each contestant is allowed to submit three (3) submissions. Each submission MUST be in different categories.
- Do not include studio lead in or lead out bumpers. We will make sure to give you and your studio proper credit.
- Your submission must use footage from an animated series or video games. We will not be accepting live action at this time.
- Original animated series or video game audio is allowed but may not exceed 15 seconds and is not preferred.
- Video cannot contain any watermarks.
- Video cannot contain original subtitles from the source materials. Artist original text is allowed.
- Submission must be longer than 60 seconds but no more than six (6) minutes maximum.
- Video will not contain nudity
- Submission audio will not contain excessive explicit language. You may use edited versions of songs with such language.
- Videos will not contain excessive violence or gore.
- Video cannot contain video from the music video of the song or trailers.
- Video is not to be plagiarized from another studio. This will result in an automatic disqualification.
- Convention attendance is not required for submission.
- Video is not to be publicly posted online more than 18 months prior to convention start date
-Video is not to be submitted to the convention previously more than 18 months prior to convention start date
-Video has not been previously accepted by the convention in a previous AMV Contest (e.i. Not accepted into a category. Submissions accepted into the Shoutout video may be resubmitted following the other rules)
- **Convention reserves the right to reject a submission on any grounds.
- **Convention reserves the right to switch the category of any submission.
- ***By entering a submission, you give Thy Geekdom Con the right to display your work in this and/or future conventions.

All AMVs containing anime, video game, non japanese anime (RWBY, Code:Lyoko, Miraculous tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir, etc) will be ELIGILBE for the contest.

Winners and prizes will be presented during an award showing Sunday morning of Thy Geekdom Con 2022 to any submitter in attendance. If you win any awards but are not attending the convention or must leave before the award show, awards will be mailed out or digitally sent after the convention courtesy of Thy Geekdom Con. DVD copies of the contest will not be available due to legal concerns.
