The Matsuricon 2025 AMV Contest Set List is now available. Please see the link below to see if your video made the contest.



Our contest showing will take place at the Greater Columbus Convention Center\Hyatt Regency Hotel in Main 2 (Regency Ballroom) on August 30th, 2025 at 5:15 PM EDT. For those that will not be able to make it, we'll be doing a live recording of the contest though it'll not be a direct live stream. The recording will be posted at a later date.

Winners will be announced the next day August 31st, 2025 and I'll post the winners in this thread after they are announced, hopefully by the end of the day.

Thank you to everyone in the AMV community for your videos. We look forward to showcasing them to our Matsuricon audience.

Registration is now closed. Thank you to all of the AMV community. We have received the most submissions in the history of our contest. As such we're still sorting out the registration list and I'll be reaching out to anyone if there are any issues with the videos.

If you have any questions on videos entered into the contest but not yet confirmed, please reach out to matsuriconamv@gmail.com. I will also be sending an email to those that are in our contest queue in the coming days as to what the next steps will be and what to expect.

Thread Update 06/03/25: Friendly Reminder that the registration to the Matsuricon 2025 AMV contest is the End of Day, July 31st, 2025. We could use videos from all categories. Also, promotional video coming soon.

The Matsuricon AMV Contest is back again for our 8th season in action. And we hope everyone is able to submit to this year's contest. Matsuricon is scheduled for August 29th - 31st, with the contest proper scheduled for the 30th, at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, OH, USA. Contest showing dates and times, are still pending.

(Starting April 15th or "tax day" in the U.S.A.) We're accepting all of your registrations. Deadline for this year is E.O.D. July 31st, 2025

For those interested, our rules and registration links are below. But here's a few items of note for you.

We now have 7 categories:

• Action

• Comedy

• Drama

• Romance

• Upbeat/Dance

• Trailer/Commercial

• Shorts (new category)

And like last year if you don't know what category your video should be in, just choose "HELP" and we'll decide it for you.

All footage types allowed
Attendance is not required to win.
We'll be providing 9 total awards:

• 7 category awards

• 1 Best of Show

• 1 Audience Choice

Oh one more thing. Are you located in the Midwest of the U.S.A.? We're going to showcase AMVs from our region in a separate exhibition. And we'll also post the registriation form for this as well. Please see the rules for more info.

Bumping this up to remind everyone the deadline to register your videos is the E.O.D. July 31st, 2025. We could use videos from all categories. Also if you have already submitted but not sure about your videos' status (we're not sending direct emails unless the video has been rejected for rules), feel free to reach out via email and I'll be happy to let you know if you have a video submitted or not.
