English-language anime OP songs (by "Western" artists)

Post by seasons » Thu Mar 13, 2025 6:42 pm

(the actual OP w/ animation doesn't seem to be on YouTube)

Not going to pretend that even 1 out of 100 people you'd find out in the streets would be familiar with any of these BUT I'll still maintain that joining this club kind of immortalizes you as an artist in a way that few other career achievements really can.

I get goosebumps when I hear (most of) these songs and obviously I don't know if I'd be saying that right now if I hadn't already associated these songs with these openings and all the series that they served as weekly introductions to. (That's not the dig at the artists or their songs that it might sound like--would you know "Take On Me" backwards and forwards if it wasn't for its music video? Probably not!)

Are there even more of these I'm forgetting about?

This was already a worldwide hit so I don't think it counts.
