Hello If you are reading this, you are interested in the AWESOMECORE 2025! Contest.

What is Awesomecore?
So you know all those techniques and rules to make a nice clean looking AMV? All that knowledge you've gained to make something nice and smooth? Things audiences love!

Get rid of it all! Do something weird, wacky, off the wall! Do stuff people tell you shouldn’t be done and do it to the max! Do something you didn’t even know could be done.

If you look at something and think, “Why would anyone do that? Why would anyone even think about doing that?” Then you are right where you need to be.

It’s about experimentation, about silencing that little voice in your head that says “you shouldn’t, people won’t like that” Put that voice in the naughty voice corner.

And remember. Like CDVV and Skateboarders always say: Go fast and commit. Take your silly Idea and crank it to 11.

That’s what Awesomecore is all about.

Technical Requirements.
Don’t have TV logos, studio bumpers, credits, or references to other events/ competitions that are either not directly related to the video content, or unnecessary for the video concept. Videos should also not contain subtitles that were not created by the editor.

We don’t play that way around here.

If something looks the way you want it to, or the ugliness is some sort of happy accident then that’s all good.

We do need to be able to watch the video however. So I recommend common and easily readable video file formats.

Content Rules.

1. Freshness: The video must be made for this contest. If you must a freshness date of Sun Jan 12 2025. The new requirement is because I want people to be creative and fine up with something new, rather than submit something they've already done. If you want to share and beta, that's fine by me!

• One video per entrant: If you make two please contact me to choose which you like best … or just smash them together.

• Content (footage): 50% anime or manga please.

• Content (#^$): Rated R content allowed. No explicit adult content, but violence and language is ok. (Warnings appreciated)

• Content (mangled hands): Please avoid generative AI. We want to see what YOU are capable of.

• Plagiarism:

  “Videos should consist of clips edited solely by the entrant(s) or group listed on the entry form. Entries found to have been plagiarized from other Fandom Music Videos may result in disqualification and/or banishment.” -10/23/21

  I agree, Make something new That's the point!

• Genre Restrictions: ...nope.

When finished, please upload your video to a reputable file-sharing service and submit it via This Google Form

*note this form will collect your e-mail so I can communicate with you if any problems arise … or if you win!

Google Drive and Dropbox are the preferred methods of uploading your video, but please ensure that the URL you send is a “shared” or “public” link. Note: YouTube or ”streaming only” links will not be accepted. You're free to publicly share and upload your video before the deadline Also, If you finish early and feel that your video doesn't need any more tweaking, you may submit it at any time before the deadline.

Once submitted, you will not be able to send any further revisions.

Our judges will individually rank our top 5 videos.
1st place will get 5 points,
2nd 4 points etc.

When added up, the video with the most points will be our winner!
In a contest such as this, the typical judging criteria don’t really work, so I have developed the Awesome C.O.R.E Method

Eh I don’t know, we are Just getting people to have fun and try something new.

Winners will be announced April 12th!

3rd and 2nd place will receive an award certificate* featuring an artist rendition of your chosen favourite anime character. (perhaps a few surprise goodies!)

1st Place Grand Prize!
The winner will receive a prize package containing an award certificate*,
Goodies of all sorts of dubious quality,
and a custom one of a kind Awesomecore trophy!

*Certificate is just a greeting card with a gold star and some weird art done by me (not an artist).

Doujinshi! Yeah go for it!

If it's a fanmade animation, I'd say credit and/or link to the original
It'll be good for us as judges to be able to compare (so we can see what was you and what was the animator!)

Just a heads up with respect to my submission under "AlphaSigma": It features Live2D characters and a VTuber. Hopefully this also fits into the "Content (footage): 50% anime or manga" requirement. There isn't any "18+ nudity" but it is a bit risque.
