Look, it 's simple. Most girls apprecate being told the truth rather than being strung along. Just tell her, politely, that you thought she was joking with you. Offer to still be her friend, if that's what you still want to do.

And if all else failes, move to Kansas. She won't find you in all the corn feilds!!
