Brown Bread - dead
Jack Jones - alone.
Heh, I don't personally use it, my Dad does, and I hear my Nan using it occasionally, even though she was middle class. My mate's who are really nowhere near cockney have started using some of the modern rhyming slang for some reason. But my Dad's cockney, so personally I use a lot of cockney slang, just never the rhyming slang.
If you people only got 'Only Fools And Horses', and could listen to Delboy, the stereotypical cockney.
But on topic, I doubt it would work as a successful dub on any anime character I've come across, but hey, it could happen?

and to quote you againOmniStrata wrote:I'm a dub fan, though from what I can see, 40% of the dubs out there are "decent"
[as in not bad, but not good]
60% kind of suck...
However, of the 40% that are decent or above, about 15% are SUPERIOR to their sub counterparts...
My examples:
ADV Films [practically everything they've done past Eva]
Media Blasters [Ex-Driver comes to my mind]
Pioneer [they're va's move to Media Blaster's studios from time to time]
from your vampire hunter D bloodlust review.OmniStrata wrote:The dub. Let's see... EXCELLENT! After all, this film was ORIGINALLY dubbed in English. The lip movements were specifically designed to match the movement of English speaking characters so a 10/10 score here.
Hellsing was also an anime where the dub was so superior to the sub they cannot be compared. Why you may ask? well first off, people that were supposed to have english accents sounded *GASP* ENGLISH! and Alexander ownz0rs bi7che5 with that irish accent. Yes, Alexander is in fact Irish, but unless you read the magna or trafic many a fansite you wont know that because none of the people even tried to use the damned accent they were supposed to. (And the fact that they butchered the manga.)
in the sub the voice actors and basicaly everyone there didn't even think to have the characters at least SOUND like they were from the UK, but the people doing the dub knew better and thusly surpassed the sub.
So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab

I would especialy hate it if anyone posted saying it would be retarded for people in japan to try to put on english accents in hellsing. That would show that the U.S. dubbers are held to a higher shanderd then the people that are actually making and releasing the anime. And to add to the reason I prefer the hellsing dub, it is alot easier to take the anime seriously when the people are speaking the native language of their country. I can understand and totaly agree with azumanga daioh being better in it's sub form, but I still have trouble gettign past a British organization and country that seem to all speak in perfect japanese.

I live in the UK and frankly I found the politics a little insulting. I never heard the dub but the subs were good. I'd hate to hear Alucards voice in english. I loved Hellsing though but probably because I like vampires, it was really irritating when they kept saying about the protestant knights and bringing the queen into it, like she's important and saying amen after all their orders. But still it was good.

I've never really seen Slayers but I'd have to agree with you on Ranma but not his new voice it sucks, why did they have to change it, why? However that being said I couldn't disagree with you more on Kenshin for obvious reasons, it's simply the worst dubbing job ever done.
