As for your other questions, the Encore & Awards ceremony will be happening on Day 3.

We will be hosting it in two places simultaneously -- the AMV Theatre, and the JW Marriot Video Room. ONE of those will be just a re-screening, whereas the other will be an re-screening and awards presentation. We haven't decided which room will be which, but we will make an announcement when that decision has been made.

As for creator spotlights, yes, we're doing those this year. Stay tuned for information as to how to apply to be a presenter at one of them.

- I just found out they'll be livestreaming the programming from LP1 this year; does this include the AMV contest or is that a copyright nightmare?
- What day will the encore/awards ceremony be this year?
- Are you doing creator spotlight panels this year? :)
There will be no livestreaming of any AMV activities of any kind whatsoever for 2017. Even if the capability exists, I cannot permit it, nor have any of the powers-that-be had any discussions with me about having any interest doing so.

If AX/SPJA obtained the appropriate clearances/licenses or expressly communicated to me that they were willing to accept the risks livestreaming the AMV event would entail, I'd then consider it, but no such discussions have happened in that regard.
I'm sensing some hostility hahaha. Well I hope in the future that AX realizes how special AMVs are and will be interested in helping to show them off to the world. :) but I understand it's a lot of fuss.

No hostility at all. If anything, *I'm* the hostile one.

AX has been nothing but wholeheartedly supportive of AMVs, so have no fear there. But *I* cannot support any form of live-streaming broadcasting of AMVs because that then becomes an entirely different class of legality landmines to wander through, and it's volatile enough that I don't want any part of, and I suspect neither do the powers-that-be. They haven't discussed this with me though, so I assume they know better and haven't even thought of going there. :)

I am pleased to announce this year's AMV Chef Theme!

And, SURPRISE, we have recruited TWO editors to come battle each other and become our newest AMV Chef! (They did not know this ahead of time.) This year's competition will feature:
KING REDEEM vs. XOPHILARUS

Theme: Adventure Seekers
Sources: Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic
Hunter x Hunter
Fullmetal Alchemist Movie: The Sacred Star of Milos
The Legend of Korra
One Piece Movie: Strong World
& the fantastical secret source which will be revealed right before our editors jump into the fray!
We hope you can join us for games and shenanigans while our recruits battle for the coveted director's chair and earn the title AMV Chef~ :sorcerer:

I see that finalists are being announced on the spread sheet. Is that all of them?

Is the contest the same time as last year on Day 1 (Saturday)?
