Hey folks!
Renato here! It's good to be back again in the org (and also good to be back in Australia since I was away in Japan for two years, for all the folks that remember)
Anyways, I'd like to welcome you to the 4th edition of the SMASH! Blitz AMV Tournament!
For those who don't know, it is simply a tournament where editors can enter the tournament by just submitting their AMV (any is fine!), showcasing their talents and skills. From there, the top 16 editors of the judges' choosing will enter the Preliminary Finals and the tournament starts! The editors will be drawn into 1-v-1 matches and will have a theme drawn randomly for them. They will have one week to make their AMV based on the theme given to them. The judges will then judge them and the winner of the match will go on to the next round!
However, the further you go, the harder the themes will be! Some of them may be outside your comfort zone so be prepared! The winner of the Blitz AMV tournament is determined at the Grand Final and the winner will be revealed on SMASH! event day!

This year's edition of the Blitz AMV Tournament went through some changes from the previous years. Here are the changes:
- The 2 minute rule no longer applies to any round, except in the Grand Final. We decided to give you more flexibility in maxing out your creative skills and as such removed this rule. But remember it gets harder when you reach the Grand Final!
- You do not need to make an AMV to enter Blitz in the General Acceptance Period. We are all busy with our everyday lives so you can submit any AMV that you like that demonstrates your skills. But just remember, if you want to have a good chance of going into the next round, you have to give us your best work!

General Acceptance Period (GAP)
- May 17 (Tuesday) – Blitz starts, GAP submissions open
- June 12 (Sunday) – GAP submissions close @ 11:59 p.m., judging commences
- Top 16 entrants chosen
Preliminary Finals (around 16 entrants left)
- June 19 – Top 16 entrants announced, Prelims start
- June 26 – Prelims close @ 11:59 p.m., judging commences
- Top 8 entrants chosen
Quarter Finals (8 entrants left)
- July 3 (Sunday) – Top 8 announced, Quarter Finals start
- July 10 (Sunday) – Quarter Finals close @ 11:59 p.m., judging commences
- Top 4 entrants chosen
Semi Finals (4 entrants left)
- July 17 (Sunday) – Top 4 announced, Semi Finals Start
- July 24 – Semi Finals close @ 11:59 p.m. judging commences
- Top 2 chosen
Grand Final (2 entrants left)
- July 31 (August) – Top 2 announced, Grand Final starts
- August 7 (Sunday) – Grand Final ends @ 11:59 p.m.
SMASH! Event weekend
- August 21 – Winner and Runner-up of the SMASH! Blitz AMV Tournament is announced on stage on the day!
